Spreadwing
This damselfly is probably a Lestes virens ssp. vestalis, the small emerald spreadwing. Even though this was taken in a shadowy area you can really see the gold shimmer on its body.

Bug of the Day
A spreadwing damselfly from my yard last August. Unfortunately, the darned thing did not stay still long enough for a full set of Glamour Shots™. So thanks to Nick Block, Joshua Stuart Rose, and others for tentatively getting the id to at least a female Lestes, and possibly Lestes congener, the spotted spreadwing.

Decided to just upload whatever I managed to do today even its a bit unfinished.
I was struggling for a title for my story, so I’m going with the ships name. I randomly found out that another word for damselfly in the US is spreadwing, and quite frankly that’s the coolest name for a ship ever. Though my story takes influence from many facets of my childhood, nes games are probably the biggest inspiration so yay! fake title screen!
