I love Marks comedy and drama fictional stories, but part of me wonders what his horror would be like. We’ve seen bits of it here and there, I want to see how far he can go with it. Is “horror set in the old west” a genre cuz I think I found my niche.
RDR2 gives me hope bc I’ve always loved western stuff but it hasn’t been super popular so I never bothered writing it for my original stuff.
But godDAMN am I having fun with these fics. And the response has surprised me? I always just assumed horror was like...too niche but it’s like my favourite goddamn thing.
I started reading horror. Like. Super young. Goosebumps and “scary stories to tell in the dark” were my jam (I AM SO HYPE FOR THE MOVIE) and I graduated to Stephen king when I was 10. Think I’ve gone through all the good horror movies on Netflix by now too.
I don’t think there’s enough “old west horror” out there. Maybe I can flood the market lmao. Goddamn I would love a horror western video game that’s story-driven and doesn’t just rely on shock value (hi, outlast, a lot of what you do seems very over the top just bc it can be).
What’s more unsettling than seeing a vague shape against the night sky in uninhabited country?
