ever since she sank her teeth into the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, she learned what life is really capable of, and she learned that god and adam are not the most important things out there. there exists love that does not feel obligatory or uncomfortable; there exists life outside of this garden.

god punishes her. god makes her subservient - subservient! - to adam. but he also gives her the greatest gift: childbearing.

eve does not care much about adam, especially since he told god it was her fault they ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge, but the sex they have feels amazing. and it gives her a child, a little boy named cain, whom she loves with all her heart.

she loves being a mother, but she does not love being a wife. when god creates purgatory, he puts eve in charge - mostly because he doesn’t think she’s pure enough to enter heaven again but she’s not worthy of hell. eve thinks of herself as the mother of every monster that comes through. her life is pretty damn complete, and she doesn’t need fucking adam for it to be that way.

romance bores her, and she’s never needed it or wanted it. she’s had trouble understanding what the fuss is over romantic love since it seems to be everywhere.

she tried romance once after adam, with one of her more humanoid children, but it just felt like an obligation. she felt like she was repressing herself to be with one person. plus, she couldn’t let go of the maternal instinct she had, and the relationship became more of a mother/daughter relationship as time went on. so she just doesn’t bother with romantic love anymore because it’s not for her.

she does like to have sex though. mostly with humans or previously-been humans, because she does feel so maternal toward her monsters. she breeds, creates new monsters, and loves them just like she loves all of her other children.

on earth, man does she have a lot of sex. sometimes the humans she sleeps with try to get her to stay, but eve shuts them down and tells them she only wanted sex. it disappoints some, but one time a man’s shoulders slumped with relief and he said “thank fuck. not that you weren’t good or anything but…” and eve would kiss him chastely on the lips and tell him “it’s okay. romance isn’t for everyone.”
