See, in my pursuit to help emphasize the weird alien nature of Irkens, I thought it would be cool (and a tad gross) to make their ship windows - or, at least, some of their ship windows - a mass of nanites that liquify and solidify on command to open/close the window.
Okay, but I feel weird about calling it ‘the Spittle Runner’ now?
For the longest time I called it ‘Tak’s ship,’ but I erased her personality programming when I substituted my own. And I don’t even want to go INTO that mess.
I mean, a Spittle Runner is just what it IS, right? The Irken designation for that class of ship. Like Zim’s ship is called a Voot Cruiser and the Massive is called... the Massive. It’s like calling it a DeLorean or a segway or a FUV (a Flying Utility Vehicle. They don’t seem to have them in this dimension yet, probably because my Dad’s not here to invent them. Go figure.)
That would be fine if it was JUST a vehicle. But it has an onboard computer and kind of a personality dependent AI, and... it’s complicated. Just because it doesn’t LIKE me and it’s kind of stUPID doesn’t mean it shouldn’t get a name, you know? Even if it’s just Jerkwad Poor-Decision-Making Alien Ship. Except that’s a dumb-sounding acronym...
Also, right now it’s coded to Bonnie’s personality. It SOUNDS like her. A-a little. I can’t just call something that sounds like Bonnie ‘Ship’. It’s like a Bonnie/Ship hybrid.

I don’t know. It still doesn’t like me sitting in it, let alone flying it. And I’m still having problems with the controls. Even with Bonnie’s personality programming, it’s kind of... sulky. I guess having your brain messed with so much- first by the Irkens when they decommissioned it, then by Tak, then me, then Zim, then me again, then Gaz, then me, then Gaz again, then Simon, then Bonnie... maybe it’s enough to make anyone cranky, you know?
Meh...
Maybe I should ask it what it identifies as.
