When Spite's on the prowl chasing his "prey", he's hyperaware of any noises: footsteps, birds flying away because Rook got too close, the sound of their breathing quickening as it happens. He's a man of little words, but he'd still take the opportunity to taunt them regardless.
Spite can smell Rook's unique scent from a distance, tracking them down with eerie precision, and it's further aided by how attuned the spirit is to strong feelings. It would be so easy to flap his wings and tackle them to the ground the moment they revealed their location.
He's only got one weakness, really, if you think about it. The fact he has dumb fucking car headlights for eyes.
