I first encountered 🎩 a year after I moved, when I was 14. I'm clairsentient, and felt an energy lingering around, so I used tarot cards to get to know him. I worked with him for a few years, with him essentially acting as a familiar spirit, helping with protection, divination, and spirit communication. Shortly after I turned 18, he started flirting with me. I used divination to work out the terms of our relationship, and got readings from some other people to confirm it.

The problem im having is that no one will actually explain what it is, :') and im confused, i dont want to sound uniformed or rude in spaces but is it like what Catholic nuns do with christian god? Where they 'marry' as a way of annocing their devotion/lifelojg commitment to worship???? Or is it like an actual romantic thing??? Or something else entirley??

Godspousal, in short, is the literal or symbolic marriage to a non-human entity.

With historical examples, and Catholic nuns, you'll often see symbolic godspousal. Being symbolically married to a deity often means vowing to be devoted to them for life, often performing certain duties because of that devotion.

Modernly, we see more literal godspousal. This happens when a god asks a human to marry them, as gods are more knowable to many people. A decent example of literal spiritspousal is posthumous marriage, where one partner is deceased, but 2 souls still wish to be wed.

Some people may also use the term godspousal to refer to non-romantic devotional relationships, such as priesthood, familial relationships, mentorships, etc.
