Is it just me, or is spiraling, or spiral, a really popular word right now? I was watching Jersey Shore Family Vacation the other day (yes, a guilty pleasure after I watched quite a lot of Jersey Shore a decade ago), and every episode, it was “spiral”, “spiral”, “spiraling”! We already know from our past adventures with Maty Noyes’ music that this Mississippi artist is a hip trendsetter, and she’s kicked off summer with a song named Spiraling Down, out on LAVA / Republic Records. “Sometimes it’s easy to feel bullied by the world. Not feeling good enough or living up to everyone’s expectations,” Maty comments about the message behind the new single, “Forget that, I’m going to embrace who I am, and where I am, and trust my journey. If you feel like you don’t fit in come sit with me.” The breezy buoyant, dulcet sparkling song does quite the opposite of “spiral" in our hearts. It leaves us aglow and indescribably content on this lovely summer evening. The single is available from all digital service providers, here.
The way this blog is just slowly documenting my downward spiral is very chic of me. Very impressed with myself.
