Godliness the form,

the very picture of truth

wrinkled and misused,

the power of change denied,

the claims of Christ set aside.

the view was scary enough

not the way of strength

not the place for a good end,

just wait til I turn around.

matters first and last,

each situation

is helpless without your voice

whispering in my nigh ears.

Number one sinner

guilty of so many things

looking for relief

from the weight he is carrying

finding it in Jesus Christ.

you are ultimate goodness

your precious presence

is the best part of my life

without you I am nothing.

one realm to the next, then what?

Who was right or wrong,

do you hear laughter or moans

and which sound belongs to you?

A father ignored

drifting in darkening storms

his anchor unchained

his children full of much blame

forgetting his acts of love.

.

Half way home, nowhere

near enough to reach His arms

you halt your journey

a nice place to turn around

and be a pillar of salt.

talking to some computer

worshiping knowledge,

fruit of electronic trees,

ignoring wisdom from God.

.

Faces toward Christ

escaping the dark false glow

of bright neon light

advertising all but truth

along every plunging path.

and only a few answer

common sense falters

as foolishness reigns supreme

until mankind strays too far.
