oH WOW

This was HARD because, as we all know, John Deacon was a Look Queen throughout his entire career, but I’ve narrowed down my top five looks, plus a few honorable mentions! I love this man and I wanna raid his closet OKAY

Look 1: Striped Sassy 70s Shirt

The pattern mixing of the stripes and checks is a BOLD MOVE but he sticks the landing y’all!! Plus the hair and the FACE? All 10/10, bless up

Look 2: Silky black dotted shirt (multiple appearances)

This WHOLE look from Ridge Farm is fantastic (those boots? NUT) but this shirt makes multiple appearances throughout the mid-70s and I’m grateful each time

God I wanna go on a PICNIC with these dorks!!!

The hat is heinous, I’m SORRY hat stans But the shirt is truly in her most glorious here during Queen’s 1975 concert at the Odeon when paired with those white silk pants, oof!!!!! We love a silky man!

Look 3: Tourist John in Japan (1975)

So this isn’t HiGh FaShiOn but this is BOYFRIEND fashion and it makes me wanna cuddle okay

Don’t you just wanna steal that sweater?? It looks so SOFT

Look at him and these kids!!!!!!!!!!!! my heart!!!!! John seemed so happy in Japan and this outfit makes me smile, 100000/10, please let me wear your sweater, thanks

Look 4: Hot Space-era pink-and-blue shirt

This smiley guy saved up all his salt and jammed it onto ONE album and he’s having a GREAT TIME WITH IT

he sort of looks like a toddler this outfit is so comfy, casual, and colorful, the man is setting the trends of the decade!! In this house WE STAN HOT SPACE-ERA JOHN

Look 5: All-White Outfit (1984, The Works Tour)

Mid-80s Deacy was truly coming into his thotticus self, but NONE was more powerful than this look

oh my god are you JOKING ME SIR can you CALM DOWN, do you KNOW how to button a shirt?

This outfit is SO FUCKING GOOD, if I was alive in 1984 and saw this look I would spontaneously combust and/or jump his bones, it’s too powerful for mortal eyes, infinity/10, all hail the king!!!!!!!!!!!

Honorable Mentions:

Early 80s all-white short-shorts!!! he looks like he’s going to play tennis or maybe model, who knows…a thirsty athleisure icon THIGHS

All-blue ‘fit, Queen Rock Montreal 1981…would it be a Deacy fashion list without including this absolutely THIRSTY look? I would die for him I think

News of the World Tour, 1977-1978…whoever was filming this concert was SINFUL and I would like to grant them a retroactive Oscar for cinematography…I just………..jeez…..John in white is truly HOT and he knows it.

@rogers-sweatbands aka mags aka my best friend in the whole world has given me a kind of friendship so unconditional and amazing that it’s genuinely changed my life for the better. i’m in the best mental place i’ve been in years, and i think i owe a big part of that to her 💘

live aid- what’s your dream concert lineup?

oh fuck dude. if i could build my own concert...

we’d open with heroes-era david bowie, followed by early 70s elton john, then 1965 beatles, 1992 blur, and close it all out with 1974 live at the rainbow queen! i’d probably put the smiths and the 1975 in there as well somewhere

24.  What’s the bravest you’ve ever felt?i don’t have a lot of those moments. i’m honestly such a coward. but the bravest i have felt is when i was upfront with a friend who hurt my feelings. i wasn’t an emotional doormat anymore.

yes!! ok, i’ve been mostly watching Happy shows as i stay at home, and it’s great to revisit some! i’d say psych, parks and rec, flight of the conchords, buzzfeed unsolved, and schitt’s creek!! 

23. the book you just finished and what you thought (no spoilers!)

i just finished rereading in a dark, dark wood by ruth ware and i didn’t enjoy it as much as the first reading but it was still good!! modern day agatha christie and i imagined janina gavankar as one of the characters and THAT was fun 

oh boy oh boy two of my absolute FAVS but based only on looks and my level of thirst for them both, i’ll have to go with my mans chris evans!!

taurus: how long will you spend on a story or scene before you give up?

I keep drafts around forever! It’s really hard for me to entirely give up on an idea, so I usually just shelf it indefinitely...sometimes, a new take on one of those shelved projects appears and I start working on it again! 

aquarius: what is the most unique thing about your current wip?

I don’t really have any fiction WIPs right now (or at least any that I’ve worked on since December), but I am writing my undergraduate thesis, and it’s a lot of new, original scholarship about situating concept album cover art in the later 1960s and early 1970s within the greater artistic movements of the time!
