#Repost from my great friend, incredible conservationist and founder of @sealegacy @paulnicklen I'm incredibly proud to be part of the Sealegacy collective! --- A few years ago, my friend @jim_abernethy flew me up in his ultralight airplane so I could shoot this breathtaking view of the Spinner Shark migration off the coast of West Palm Beach, Florida (see if you can spot the one spinning through the air). I was so inspired to see such a high density of sharks during their spring migration that I made sure to include this destination in SeaLegacy 1's inaugural expedition this fall. It's important to me to share that, on this particular day, there were dozens of people in the water just out of frame, completely safe, and with no idea the sharks were even there. Humans are responsible for the destruction of between 100 β 275 million sharks every year, yet this peaceful beach is evidence our fear of them is unjustified, and coexistence is possible. #shark #spinnershark #westpalmbeach #florida #nature #naturelovers #MPA #coexistence (at Palm Beach, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CB28LErpu5s/?igshid=1kp7dw1nav62t
