                        SHE’D BEEN FOLLOWING IT ALL, everything that happened with the elementals and mysterio- all down to the epic ending in london. it seemed like it was all over...until the video was released. jessica immediately suited up and lept from her bedroom window to head towards peter’s apartment. it didn’t take her long to get there but already paparazzi crowded the place. coming from the alley, jessica stuck to the shadows and moved slowly to avoid being seen ; and soon red gloves lifted the window open and she slid inside.

                           mask is pulled off, a deep breath taken before she searches for him, moving out towards the living room where she found him.   “ peter, what the hell is going on? ”   feet move forward, heart pounding,   “ that video....it’s fake, right? tell me it’s fake. ”

Vision was not one for espionage in the best of cases, but there were some times when he had to drift outside of his comfort zone. This one in particular was tricky, forcing him to circumvent a few security measures - heightened, no doubt; especially in this part of the city - before he was provided access into the hallways of the school. Entry or no, it would be difficult to fit in. Though his human guise gave him an advantage, one that he endlessly thanked Stark for, he was still a fairly tall man. Not impossibly so, but he would draw an eye here or there. Especially if he was not seen very frequently inside of the building.

But when the bell rang that dismissed the students from one class to the next, Vision turned to duck into a nearby broom closet. Waiting until his sensors were able to catch sight of exactly what - or who - he was actually looking for. 

Peter Parker. 

They’d come across each other a handful of times, but more often than not, it was not for work reasons. Right that moment, Vision needed Parker for more than just his Star Wars knowledge. So when his sensors finally picked up the boy’s pathway down the particular hallway he was hiding in, Vision waited for only a few moments before he opened the door and smoothly transitioned into the bustling crowd of students going from classroom to classroom, blending in well enough with the few teachers that also made their way through the school.

        ❛    hey,  pete.    ❜   her  voice  is  soft,  only  a  little  above  a   whisper  as  she  stands  with  one  foot  in  his  room  and  the  other  still  outside  the  doorway,  head  peeking  in.   mj  isn’t  going  to  the  funeral  he’ll  be  attending,  but  she  mentally  slaps  herself  for  not  at  least  wearing  something  more  bleak;  her  light  green  tank  top  felt  so  out  of  place  in  the  current  somberness  of  his  home.   ❛    can  i  come  in ?    ❜

          “I’m not going anywhere, Peter.”

Harry still isn’t sure what caused this meltdown from Peter but ONE thing for sure is that Harry wasn’t about to just leave him there. Even if the bell was about to go, even if it meant he was going to be late to his next class. Hell, he’d skip it altogether if it’d help Peter out even the smallest amount.

So he watches closely. The way Peter tries to keep out the light, the flinch every time one of them speaks. Harry’s eyes go wide. Sensory overload! Quickly he turns into this school bag and pulls out the fancy noise-cancelling headphones his father bought him. They’re INSANELY impressive, Harry can’t even here his sister screaming downstairs for more cookies when he has them on in his room. And somewhere deep down at the bottom of his bag he’s pretty sure he has the sunglasses he wears when the press follow him and his sister around and slow news days. He rummages and finds them too.

Gently he slips the headphones over Peter’s head, pressing them down firm around his ears, hoping that it might help somewhat. Next he removes Peter’s hands from his eyes, apologising all the while and puts the sunglasses onto the boys face, with a smile.

“Tell me, Peter, how’s school going ? --And your extracurricular activity, I hope isn’t interfering with education ?”

Code red. You need to come over here. NOW.

The instant he heard those words on the other end of the line Ben bolted from the breakfast table, sprinting to the car and driving like a maniac into the city. He knew the address through Gwen’s texts and his own research. He’d been there a few times over these last 5 years to watch over May from afar. May was at work today, Gwen had gone over to comfort Peter about something. Something was wrong if Gwen was calling him with a Code Red. Moments later he burst into the Parker apartment and light eyes fell upon his nephew curled up in Gwen’s arms. Gwen’s crying, Peter’s crying, and Gwen is able to pull Peter to his feet before she deposits him in Ben’s. 

“Jeeeeeeses H. Christ,” Gwen groaned after throwing the last of the rubble off of her, spidey senses absolutely screaming at her as Kevin asked if she was alright. “Yeah, yeah I’m fine Kev. You can probably scan me to see if I’m dying. Where’s everybody else?” As Kevin started listing off the locations (if known) of the other Avengers Gwen felt her gaze focus on the approaching purple figure. No. Not him. Anyone but him. She lifts the bottom of her mask to spit out some blood that had pooled in her mouth, groaning at the iron taste before she pulled the mask back into place. Alright. There were a few more of them nearby so she wasn’t completely alone, but she felt the rage return. 

This monster took her best friend from her. She was going to make him pay.
