Jun Wu actively trying to kill MQ and him figuring it out over the 800 years. JW isolating MQ and making sure that there's almost no other god ( except fx maybe) at his side. Spidey!MQ could also make it harder for MQ in the Cuocuo storyline bc him and fx are even more distant than in canon.

Also consider : MQ choses non-deities to carry similar powers and helps pick Spiders in different dimensions, even acting as a guardian for some.

god imagine mu qing getting his own arch nemesis like his own green goblin or smthn and the guy just. fucking hounds him. never leaves him alone. everywhere he goes, the goblin is there, lurking and quietly sabotaging every aspect of his life. it fucks mq up so bad. and the worst part is that bc the whole spiderman thing is a secret, he has no one to tell all of this to. all the other heavenly officials notice him becoming weirder and angrier with every passing year but no one has the guts nor the compassion to approach him abt it. all except fx, who tried to help mq despite them being rivals and even though he has no idea what mq's whole deal really is. for a short miniscule second, everything seemed like it could be better.

this is where jun wu swoops in, offering an extended hand for mq, a pillar to lean on. jw checks on mq every so often under the pretense of doting on his officials, keeps him behind after meetings and slowly gains mq's unwavering trust. and i imagine him slowly twisting mq's viewpoint and using all the manipulative abuser tactics to isolate mq and keep him in his grasp. "you can't trust everyone, be wary of whose company you keep." "do you truly believe nan yangs concern for you is genuine?" "i am the only one who understands you, xuan zhen."

and so mq strays even further from everyone else. fx, who had thought they were getting somewhere, is thrown to the side. he has no idea what to do now that mq has fully shut him out.

What if this was a scenario that she technically crossdresses ig and shes pretty tall so everyone just thinks wow a really pretty, strong guy or whatever after she establishes herself.

cue xl and hc one day visiting the southwest or smthing and they see an accurate statue of mq and its clear its a female martial god. They ask why mq is portrayed as a woman and an old priest tells them that the southwest accurately portrays their guardian and shows them some cherry blossoms he put on the altar long ago and tells that it signifies a prayer that she finds her friends again.

Cue xl being emotional over all of this and trying to subtly gift mq with jewelry or spider themed weaponry or some other stuff he remembers her ( and he thinks that he's been misgendering her and mq is offended by it and not that she crossdresses bc when has xl not blamed himself) liking when they were mortal.

FX just thinking really gnc and then thinking mq is trans alongside xl and realizing that he punched a woman.

idk cisfem!MQ or transfem!MQ, fem!MQ just has such good headcanon potential.

its like... mq knows how it feels to have everyone think you're wrong + he probably thinks everyone else in the spider society are daft and stuck up or whatever so he would definitely defend miles !!! and i can totally imagine him being shifty and weird, leading everyone to think he's up to no good, kinda like how most viewers thought hobie wouldve been like a rival or smthn for miles, only to flip everything around at the end and be like Psyche!! he's been on miles' side all along 🤙🤙

For the green goblin idea, I feel like it could be JW and maybe his clones. MNQ could also probably add to MQ's whole complex about not being the intended spiderman.

Also, did MQ randomly get powers or was he bit?

mq as the (seemingly reluctant) parental/big brother figure (he secretly loves being it) REAL i love that side of him so bad it's so underappreciated 🫶

I was also wondering - does the whole spider strength thing actually make him stronger than fx and if so, does he purposely loose spars with fx sometimes when he was keeping the whole thing a secret?

I'm just rlly intrigued by all the possibilities a tgcf spiderman has tbh.

i think it should be natural for him to make magical webs!! tgcf being xianxia opens up so much possibilities actually i think it's super cool to think abt the spider bite in a more magical/fantasy lens like imagine if he can control spiders too the same way hc controls his wraith butterflies??? super neat stuff my man would be unstoppable

and he's definitely stronger than fx but purposely loses fights (which he hates doing but a man gotta do what a man gotta do) to keep it a secret

I also wanted to ask - how did mq become spiderman lol? Was it like a random mission where he got bit or was it pre-fall of xianle? Also, is it like an alter ego of his?

so my thought is, wouldn't the emergence of sudden new powers be interesting as well as alarming to someone like mu qing who definitely didn't have a lot of opportunities at that age, either? since another post mentioned that he could've ascended AFTER getting spider powers since jun wu would want to keep an eye on him, then it's only logical that he would've been in his young adult era when bitten.

besides that, a spider sent by jw that specifically intended to bite xie lian would probably be very careful about not being caught or stepped on. what i'm thinking, and i could always be wrong, is that the spider was actually crawling towards xl and on the verge of biting him before mq simply grabbed it and proceeded to simply drop it out a window- but not after being bit. yeet.

not relevant, but this au also makes the scene where feng xin & mu qing are captured in a butterfly "web" and wrapped up in its silk 10x funnier.

AAGJSKDKD MQ YEETING THE SPIDER ONLY TO GET BIT LMFAOO but you're so right the emergence of spider powers will definitely interest mu qing a lot and in some ways even boost his morale and confidence to do things he was never able to before

HOWEVER i also firmly believe that him getting powers would scare mq a lot in the way that he doesn't know what people would think if they discovered his powers or if they discovered HE was the one that got powers (something something unsuitable and undeserving) so he just keeps everything under very tight wraps and sneaks around to do spider duties when no one is looking. i think it would make his ascension and absolute relief for him bc then all the weird stuff and awkward encounters he barely got out of due to spider powers back when he was only mortal or a middle official can now be excused as godly powers or whatever

also I'm going in a bit of a different and darker turn with the fic than expected (😭 the angst is too tempting) so any ideas on how MQ interacts with other (tgcf characters and spiders alike) would be helpful

i just think mq would probably have similar powers to most spider people like sticking on walls, web shooting, spidey sense, you know the drill. i do however also like the idea of both my xianxia spidersonas having sentient spider silk/web!!! like imagine if it's smthn like ruoye and it can move on its own and be commanded.... i think it'll be super neat

also super cool to play around with the xianxia aspect for mq's powers like,, maybe they can share his thoughts with their spiders? kinda like a mental link so they can see what the spiders see and all that!!
