So im cleaning the plant and out crawls an actual spider. So my plant doesn't have spider mites and I may have killed this poor spider when all it wanted to do was decorate its home 😭

@nolongermiserable my friend and resident spider hater thinks I should have killed it more deliberately and im here crying about how I can't even put it outside because there's snow everywhere.

At least my plant is clean and got a decent water. I want to start naming my plants, but I can never come up with good ones

It's called the Chaffee Spider, a large spider, said to have a 5-inch long body and head, and 4-inch long legs. They lived in one cave in Colorado, and were said to be kept by pioneers as pets in the late 18-century. They made strong silk used to make ropes, and acted like cats, hunting mice in the house, and would watch over their owners when they slept. Chaffee Spider apparently left at the end of the 18th century after one killed a man that walked into their nest.
