Hell Creek is home to two species of pachycephalosaur, Pachycephalosaurus and Sphaerotholus.

Similar to many modern sheep, Pachycephalosaurus and Sphaerotholus use their domed heads in shoving and ramming matches in order to establish dominance.

A rooted dinosaur tooth of an indeterminate pachycephalosaurid from the Hell Creek Formation in Carter County, Montana, United States. There are many species of pachycephalosaurids found during the Maastrichtian of North America such as, Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis, Platytholus clemensi, Sphaerotholus buchholtzae, Sphaerotholus triregnum and the controversial Stygimoloch spinifer and Dracorex hogwartsia. Stygimoloch has more recently been identified as a valid species, but it's unclear if it is distinct enough to be its own genus. Dracorex, while not extensively studied, may lean towards Stygimoloch. Size wise, it could lean towards Pachycephalosaurus and Stygimoloch (Dracorex) over the two smaller pachycephalosaurid genera. Regardless of the validity of some proposed species, pachycephalosaurids were remained very diverse to the very end of the Mesozoic. The prominent raised ridged down the center of the crown distinguishes pachycephalosaurids from the similarly toothed contemporary basal ornithischian, Thescelosaurus. Unlike Thescelosaurus, pachycephalosaurid teeth can also be quite unsymmetrical.

Prehistoric Planet: Season 2 (Fanmade)
Here’s my idea for a second season of Prehistoric Planet. For this season I decided to use the theme of cardinal directions rather than biomes and put some more focus on non-dinosaurian creatures, birds, & species that hadn’t appeared in the original series in general.
North:
An Ankylosaurus tries to sleep off a big meal following heavy rains in Saskatchewan, but the antics of some rowdy Sphaerotholus keep interrupting his attempts to nap.
Alcione fish off the coast of Morocco and are hunted in turn by a Prognathodon.
Amuremys prepare for hibernation as the Russian winter approaches.
A pregnant Maastrichtidelphys tries to outwit a hungry Betasuchus in the Netherlands.
Two Struthiomimus fight over a barberry bush in South Dakota, with one winning by default when their squabble leads to the other getting ambushed by a Dakotaraptor.
Belemnitella migrate up & down the water column off the coast of Sweden.
South:
A Polarornis hunts for fish in the ocean off the coast of Antarctica and comes into conflict with a lone Diplomoceras hunting in the same waters.
A herd of Alamosaurus come to New Mexico to lay eggs, but their quest for nesting materials disrupts a Dineobellator’s own nest-building.
In India, the world’s first true grazing mammals, Bharattherium, feed, forage, and frolic as the dry season begins.
An old Majungasaurus tries to find clean water after a massive flood in Madagascar fills the river in his territory with sediment.
The death of a Mosasaurus off the coast of New Zealand provides a feast for the animals of the ocean floor.

East:
A Dryptosaurus scavenges for prey washed onto a beach in Delaware by a storm.
Male Charonosaurus battle for females in China during the mating season.
A Struthiosaurus catches a cold and, due to being mostly deaf, must navigate the Romanian floodplains by sight alone, which makes identifying which plants are safe to eat rather difficult.
A Globidens hunts ammonites off the coast of modern-day East Timor, and the cephalopods do their best to avoid him.
An adolescent Austroraptor molts in Argentina, and a Bonapartenykus tries to steal his shed feathers to use for her nest.
Palmocarpon palms are pollinated and bear fruit in eastern India.
West:
A family of Torosaurus are forced to find a new home range when a forest fire in Wyoming destroys the plants that they preferentially feed on.
A Gargantuavis couple raise chicks in France and try to protect them from an Allodaposuchus in search of an easy meal.
Off the coast of modern-day Niger, Cretalamna battle for power following the passing of the elderly dominant female.
A Brohisaurus contracts a sore throat and searches for medicinal plants in Pakistan to ease the pain.
A young Vegavis leaves her mother and tries to find her own way in the world in Vega Island.
A Maip uses a dust bath to get rid of fleas in southwestern Argentina.
Center:
A herd of Pachycephalosaurus live their lives in the young Rocky Mountains.
A Sanajeh hunts for dinosaur eggs in India but literally bites off more than she can chew and dies.
Hyposaurus court in what is today northern Sudan.
An unnamed giant abelisaur hunts titanosaurs in Kenya.
A Louhuecotitan in Spain hallucinates after eating a hallucinogenic mushroom and charges at a tree, mistaking it for a rival sauropod.
Hypacrosaurus migrate through central Canada and snack on sycamores along the way.

The tread of a predator builds a rhythm in the woods, slow, sure, menacing. Each footfall sounds the weight of the beast, but also the crackle of leaf litter and dried twigs, and the gentle muffling of weeds pressed into the mud. The birds are still, but they chirp nervous notes every few seconds, as if they cannot help but express the moment. Once the tyrannosaur is gone, they hop about, dip bills into the creek, perhaps to wash down the tension, and resume more nattering songs. But the pachycephalosaurs remain still. The rhythm yet drums in their ears, and the smell of the predator’s breath—rank from old blood and a rotten tooth—still burns their noses. So, they lay like stones beside the log, daring the moss to grow on them.
I wasn't going to post this, but... here it is. Sphaerotholus Goodwini I barely found something about this dino, he’s pretty obscure. My inspiration for the coloring was Homalocephale from JPOG, i love that tiny dino.
