A boy, lying on the ground. A lost, witch-like figure. The dust clouds, swirling through the air.
random word: fire
Fire spells are some of the easiest spells to cast in Spellsong, because fire itself is self-sustaining. Some spells, like charms, need to be manually maintained over time.
Send me a random word and I will give you a wip/oc/world-building fact related to that word.

Opening his eyes, the boy looked up at the witch, a look of fear and confusion on his face. Wordlessly, she helped him to his feet and slowly walked him to a nearby bench. His steps were cautious, placed. Almost as though he had forgotten how to walk. He sat down gingerly, looking around him in wonder.
“My name is Ophelia,” said the witch, turning to face the boy. “What’s yours?”
He stared at her, slowly shaking his head. He went to speak, but no sound came out.
“You don’t know your name? How old are you? Where do you live?”
Tears welling up in his eyes, a small, scratchy whisper arose. “I don’t know. I don’t know anything…”
“Do you know how you ended up, unconscious, on the ground?”
Another shake of the head.
“Do you remember anything?”
“No….”
Ophelia leaned over, placing a calming hand on his shoulder. “Check your pockets. Maybe you have something in there that can tell us who you are.”
The boy reached into his pockets, pulling out nothing but a small piece of paper. He handed it to Ophelia.
Your name is Oscar Edmonds, and the time of writing this, you were 16 years old, a few weeks shy of your 17th birthday. You were part of an experiment, that didn’t exactly go to plan. For your own safety, and ours, we wiped your memory. You may have memories prior to this experiment, you may not.
Good luck,

The witch walked up to boy. He was covered in bruises and scrapes, and wasn’t moving. Was he dead? How long had he been there? Bending down, she saw his chest very slightly rising and falling. She tried to sit him up, allowing him to breathe better. He stirred, almost slipping back to the ground. Concentrating all her energy, she placed a hand on the back of his neck, praying that the spell her brother had been talking about would work. A deep breath.
