Welp, my self imposed speed modeling challenge sadly didn't get to the clothes, but its better than I thought it'd end up! I set myself 24 hours before I wouldn't let myself touch it anymore, and here we are! One midnight to another and now Wally Darling from @partycoffin 's amazing 'Welcome Home' project has been given a rough 3D form! It's uh... a somewhat unsettling model of Wally now that I look at it. I think it's mostly because of the lack of irises. Not intentional, but slightly on theme I guess :)
My shader isn't the best, but it's the most I could cobble together before midnight. It kiiiinda looks like fleece? I'm sure that if I could get some particles in there it'd look better. Really proud of the hair and face though, it ended up coming out great! There's certainly improvements to be made, the hair is lacking the trademark swirl but after trying to get it to work in 3D space for far too long I had to move on from it and get the rest done.
Maybe after a brief break from staring at a screen I might come back and clean 'em up a bit and get them something to wear. If anyone has any ideas on how to make the swirl in 3D, lemme know, I'd appreciate the suggestions!

Nice start-to-finish speedmodeling video with full modeling process, bone rigs, uv mapping, uv painting, shapekey rigging, and grease pencil outlining. No shader stuff as the shading is all hand-painted.
