Scavengers’ Feast on the Tatarian Steppe
As a Nose-Beast and two Tapir-Horses graze in the distance, the carcass of a huge subadult Elephant-Boar, the largest and heaviest herbivore ever to inhabit Tataria, has drawn in a host of scavengers from all across the steppe that spans the central and eastern halves of the Potworian island-continent; a swarm of the 2-meter-tall flightless vulture Paragyps vulgaris, a flock of kingfisher-relatives known as Scarletbills, a growing assembly of Lesser Ibis-Headed Parachiropterans, and a pair of Grass-Stalkers. A hectic, noisy feeding frenzy will soon ensue amongst all these diverse carnivores as they seek to strip the Elephant-Boar carcass of all its flesh.
