Heya, I’m re-reading Spectrum for the good old times, yk? Anyways, I was wondering if you could clarify which follower is who appearance and name wise. I think I kinda got it down the more i read, but I wanna be sure because I have short-term memory and keep getting a lil confused. Sorry for the trouble!!
I feel kinda awkward for asking this since woahh it’s been how many years since it this was relevant?!?
i really enjoy your works and hope you’ll feel better soon <3
Anon, I'm always happy to hear if someone rereads my older work. : ) (even if sometimes I'll reread and be on a see-saw mindset between 'Man, that was a good line' and 'ough no, the pacing there...')
To help with your question, I'll dig up some ooold art.
From top left, to top right, then bottom left to bottom right - Val, Owel, Reno and Sprig.
I hope this helps. And thank you, Anon. : ) Take care of yourself, too.
Bonus: have a Tomodachi Life Dance Routine i made with a phone camera 7 years ago

WELL HECK I wanted to enter @that1nkyone ‘s Fanfic art contest but heck if I know how to enter. Welp I’ll just post it here and hope I catch 1nky’s attention, if not I get to enjoy the hard work I did.
I simultaneously have friends playing Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5
And im replaying Persona 3 because it is my eternal fav ™
And being able to talk about this silly game franchise ive liked since 2009 with people who are doing more than politely listening to me is so…good…so…pure.
Thank you friends. Please realize im never ever ever going to shut up about them around you now… The Contract is Sealed.

*sees that "anonymously say something you've always wanted the person to know" post* i started working on a piece for Spectrum back when you had one of the drawing contests but i never finished it (it was hella rushed and I kinda ran out of time). But just know that one day, I will finish it. And you will see it.
Holy crap, Anon! Spectrum in general feels like forever ago, but I still have some fond memories of the whole deal. I’m really happy you started drawing something for it!
If you get around to finishing it, I’d love to see it. : ) But all in your own time!
Thank you so much, and have a good one!
Seriously though, there’s a lot of memories there. I remember Trust, BOTWOT and WAFF vividly, and can only really hope that everyone’s doing well from there. (I wouldn’t call us the first instances of GB AU stuff, though, there were plenty of other inspirational sources beforehand!)
I’m just happy that something I’ve written still warrants the occasional reread from folks, and still seems to spark enjoyment.
About three years ago, I started writing an Undertale fanfiction.
The Gasterblaster AU, and the works of people like @ichiwashername-o @spacegate, A Bad Time and @sushinfood sorta threw my imagination into overdrive, and I thought ‘look at all these wonderful words and ideas. I want in. heck, I can do this. I’ll give it a shot.’
My plan for it was to be about ten chapters long, perhaps? I would get it done over the summer holidays (December-Jan, over here in Australia). I’d finish it quickly, tie it all up in a neat little bow, and move on.
And, uh, well - that didn’t exactly happen.
Spectrum turned into both a long-term project, and a means of self-expression on quite a few fronts (the Blaster forms were a metaphor, for instance. I’m fairly sure a few of you may have picked up on that).
Of course, time passed. And life happened, and my interest in Undertale dwindled. Not to mention, I started getting much more persnickety about everything I wrote. If I invested this much time in a project, then obviously it all had to be good, right?
I learned a little farther down the road that that didn’t really have to be the case. I’d learned a lot from writing this. There’s several things about Spectrum that I’d try fixing (or condensing, perhaps - the final word count rests at over 270k words). I’d probably tweak some dialogue here, ease up on some descriptions there.
I’d also make sure I don’t whack people over the head with the intended message, like “do you get it? do you get what i was trying to say here?? one sec i’ll emphasise it some more”
But yeah. I’d rather leave it alone, right now. There’s other things I’ve been thinking of doing. Some fanwork-y. Others much less so. I don’t think I needed to hold back on either until after this fic was finished, but actually finishing a long-term project has helped a lot in my self-belief of pulling another one off.
But... holy crap.
I can’t believe how many people read Spectrum. I can’t believe how many things were made for it, either. People read it, decided ‘hey, I’d like to invest my time in making a thing based on this other thing’ and freakin’ did it. So many wonderful pictures of bone dragons and fic scenes remain buried in my likes and saved away in my files.
Some people took time out to just... read this work. And that means a whole lot, too. Back when the Undertale fandom (particularly the GB AU section) was in full swing, I felt pressured to make everything ‘good.’ (And trust me when I say that pressure was from me, alone.)
I thankfully remembered to have fun with it. The journey was a lot more enjoyable than the conclusion, I think. The ending just kinda... I dunno, wrapped everything up into a package that I can sorta... pick up and put away. We’re done. Don’t gotta focus too much on it, anymore.
But I think the most important thing to do here is thank you all. Thank you for everything you’ve given me. You guys have always been amazing, and wonderfully patient and inspiring. I really hope you had a good time, here. I know I had a good time writing for you, and for me.
I’m very humbled by what you guys have gifted me.
Thank you so very much. And please take care. :’ )
