Flighteningverse Week Day 2: Prank

I couldn't NOT do this XD Spectrum just loves to do that, as Tempest never gets used to this.

Today I brought you commission for @dragon-tamer-1 ! Thank you so much for supporting me (and for your unexpected tip! That made my day uωu)

I made two versions, because I couldn't decide which is better.

Also you might notice that lineart here is a bit different - I made a small experiment. That was... Interesting, but I won't do that ever again XD. BUT! I'm really proud with wings! @clockbirds was a huge inspiration during that work.

I can't believe I finally finished a commission for @dragon-tamer-1 !!!

This is refs for Ink and Error from their beautiful Flightenverse! I was so happy to work on them, and more than happy about how they turned out.

I struggled with wings a lot, mostly because I wanted them to be super detailed, and also because Ink's feathers are partly transparent and some of them should shine through, and all that stuff.

Dragon, now I'm waiting for Dream and Nightmare designs 👀 I wanna see what are you made up there. (but no rush, sweetie)

Tempest!Error and Spectrum!Ink

Tempest!Error

- His strings can be charged with electricity, both as he's using them and after already catching an enemy. He's immune to his own electricity, but can still be shocked with other forms of electricity. Lightning bolts are actually like power boosts for him.

- He has an aura that makes the air around him charged, if you have hair and you're near him, your hair will stand on end. It's kinda static-y and there is a small buzz that, if you were to be in physical contact, would be like a small vibration that you can barely feel.

- He's very confident in himself, and is usually quiet. He really likes flying, it always puts him at peace, except if he has to fight mid-air.

- Has haphephobia, but it isn't too severe, just can't handle touch for too long. Small amounts of contact is okay, but slightly uncomfortable.

- Is actually the fastest flyer out of everyone. He can fly as fast as a lightning bolt when he's going full speed, though it's only in emergencies or when he wants to. Though even at cruising speed he's faster than most.

- If he's really angry, he'll cause a thunderstorm, in which he's more powerful. He will either cause lightning to hit you, or let them hit him for a quick boost in power.

- He can travel through the multiverse by opening portals, the portals look like they're made of electricity. They can zap anyone who touches the edges, except for Tempest.

- Can destroy AU's, and used to do it on a larger scale until he and Spectrum made a deal. He is not allowed to destroy new, young AUs, but is allowed to destroy old, either abandoned AUs or AUs that are falling apart.(I was partially inspired by entity-404's(I think, I vaguely remember seeing a similar headcanon on their blog when I asked for headcanons about Error) headcanon for this one)

- His glitches are mild, but when he's being touched, he gets more. As well as when he's feeling really angry, upset, or scared.

Spectrum!Ink

- He can summon Broomie at will, he doesn't need to carry it around on his back all the time(chooses to do so sometimes, anyway). Broomie resembles a watercolor brush, rather than a paintbrush. His attacks are more watery than paint as a result.

- He can calm storms and turn them into light rain/cloudy weather. He leaves a rainbow before he leaves, kinda as a sign to the AU's residents that it's safe to come out. When Tempest causes storms, it's hard to calm those down until he leaves or stops causing them.

- He can travel the multiverse through any source of water, as well. It has to be at least 10% water-based for him to traverse through it, though. (This doesn't apply to humans or any living creature. That'd just be weird/gross. Though he will take the opportunity to burst out of a cucumber if there's one nearby just to mess around with people.)

- Has an aura that feels like a warm sunny day sometimes, and other times it feels like the air does after it rains.

- Is stronger than Tempest, physically, but not by a lot. He never intends to severely hurt him, though.

- Is very playful most of the time. You can expect to see him either flying around in the sky/near the ceiling of the Underground(depending on the AU), or maybe painting the landscape. He gets serious when it's called for, though.

- Flying is really fun for him. He occasionally tries racing with Tempest, and is only slightly salty about not winning.

- He has a SOUL, but is disconnected from his feelings due to his SOUL being faded. He has his paints that help him feel his emotions. He can rarely feel natural emotions, though not in high amounts.

- When he found out his feathers can shine rainbows in the right lighting, he was super excited, one of the few times his natural emotions managed to shine through. He then experimented to find out the best angle that makes his feathers shine brighter.

- Memory is pretty bad still. Writes on his scarf important details he wants/needs to remember. Sometimes just writes down random things, though.

- Helps AUs form, but isn't the one who creates them. The Creators create them, but Spectrum isn't aware of them.

- His part of the deal with Tempest is that he can help the new AUs form and help reform AUs that seem determined to exist(or that the Creators want to keep around). But he can't try to save the AUs that are abandoned or falling apart.

- His eyelight that has the snowflake changes to a symbol for the other seasons: 🌸= Spring(can be different colors and flowers) ☀️= Summer(stays yellow) 🍁= Fall/Autumn(can be different colors and leaves) ❄= Winter(stays white). Only changes depending on the season an AU is in. It's a default snowflake otherwise.

- His other eyelight changes color and shape every time he blinks.

Here's my version of Error and Ink, Tempest and Spectrum. I absolutely love these designs, and I can't stop staring at them sometimes.

     "Come on, Tempest! Let's go!" Cried out Spectrum, basically pulling along a slightly reluctant, yet smiling, Tempest. Tempest wasn't against flying alongside Spectrum, though, he just liked annoying him. "Heh, alright, alright. I'm coming, you overgrown chicken." "I'm not a chicken!" Spectrum pouted, and his feathers puffed out. "Heh, okay, sure. Where is it you're trying to take me?" "Oh right! Come on, let's go!" Spectrum grabs Tempest's hand again and starts flying upwards, above the trees. Tempest flies up, letting Spectrum pull him along. They blew some of the autumn leaves off of the trees as they ascended.

     Once Spectrum knew that Tempest was going to follow him, he turned and started flying ahead. Tempest easily kept up with him, but made sure not to overtake him. He didn't know where he wanted to take him, after all. He never gets tired of the wind in his feathers, it was great! He's a bit more open about it around the few he calls friends, and though he and Spectrum aren't quite friends, they are still sorta close.

      Of course, Spectrum got distracted when he saw something shiny, and went to investigate it. This wasn't news to Tempest, as sometimes Spectrum would trail off in his babbling if something shiny caught his eyelights. Spectrum had went a bit too fast and collided into a tree. Tempest couldn't help but laugh at him, this not being the first time the feathered artist was a bit too clumsy. Spectrum pouted, but it was good-natured, as he knew he wasn't the most graceful of the two, and it didn't hurt much. Though he realized that he had a problem. He was stuck.

          "Tempest? Can you help me out? I got stuck." That sent Tempest on a laughing fit, cackling to the sky at the ridiculous situation Spectrum got himself into. Spectrum tried calling his name a few times, but realized that he was going to be stuck there for a while. After about thirty minutes, Tempest finally calmed down from his laughter, though some chuckles escaped a few times. He went to help Spectrum out of the tree, and once he was on the ground again, he turned his back on Tempest, but still said thanks.

       Spectrum made a mental note to scare Tempest with his cucumber trick later, and flew back up to show Tempest what he wanted to show him. When they arrived at a tree that was taller than the rest of the forest, it was nearly sunset. Spectrum landed on a sturdy branch, knowing it was sturdy by testing it before getting Tempest and left a note on the branch. He pointed to a nearby branch that he knew was sturdy enough for him, with a similar note on it. Tempest landed on it, and was surprised when it really did hold his full weight. "I had made sure to test these branches, and I knew that, this high up, we wouldn't have been able to sit on the same branch. So I thought ahead on this."

     "...This was nice of you. Was this tree the only thing you wanted to show me?" Spectrum shook his head, "Nope, look at the view!" When he looked, he was amazed. The way the sunset made the forest of red, orange, and yellow leaves was breathtaking! Tempest was speechless from the beauty he was seeing, he never thought to look at a sunset in autumn weather. And to think that sunsets and stars were the only beautiful things he knew of.

     Spectrum smiled at the awestruck expression on Tempest's face, and turned to look at the view. He didn't say anything, and neither did Tempest, not wanting to break the peaceful moment.

Decided to write something to go with the commission @kotikaleo (thank you again!) did for me. I was inspired to write this story during the last stream drawing this from @jann-the-bean and @diofasolia.

Oh, and this would take place before either of them met Dispir or Sanguine.

Other Info

- Dispirited!Dream travels alone a lot of the time after leaving Underscape, but after he met Blue, he hasn't felt as alone as before. He met Blue after he escaped from a particularly violent AU, beaten down pretty bad. Blue found him barely conscious while out on patrol and brought him home, and treated his wounds. Dream didn't trust him at first, but he eventually trusted him enough to stay and fully heal. After he was healed, Blue made him promise to come back and visit, he used his Puppy-Dog Eyes on him. They became friends after several visits, and Dream revealed some of his past, even told him of his brother. He admitted that he misses his brother, but believes that he's not welcome in his brother's life anymore. Blue asked him if he knew that for a fact, Dream said no, but is afraid to find out if it is or not.

- Blue tries to convince Dream to try to see his brother again, but Dream refuses, sometimes answers with a "maybe." Blue is determined to help Dream make up with his brother.

- Blue's brother, Honey, was wary of Dream at first, but knew his brother was determined to heal this stranger. He just kept an eyesocket on him to make sure he didn't hurt his bro. It's not that he doesn't think his bro can't take care of himself, he just wants to be there to back him up should this person be hostile towards them. After a few visits after Dream was healed, Honey introduced himself properly. Dream was aware of someone watching him, but didn't make a big fuss over it. He knew that he was a stranger in Blue's home, and Blue had mentioned his brother in a few conversations, so he figured it was probably his brother watching. Honey eventually came to trust that Dream won't hurt his bro, and even hung out with him when he visited and his bro was out working.

- Dispirited!Dream eventually ran into Spectrum, or rather, Spectrum flew into him. After apologizing a lot, they were curious about each other a bit, though Dream was still wary. Ink was curious because, other than Tempest and Reaper, he hasn't seen anyone else who had wings, and this is the only person who had two pairs of wings! Spectrum was so excited to meet this person, because new friend! Dream was curious because Spectrum is the first person besides his brother who has wings he's seen. They decide to talk and kinda get to know one another. Dream finds him strange, but in a good way. Spectrum is excitable about things, and doesn't seem affected by Dream's aura at all, as small as the effect would be. They eventually split up, but Spectrum would continue to seek him out sometimes, just to hang out.

- Sanguine!Nightmare, on his search for Dream, came in to Horrortale. He then met Horror, who lost his brother due to a cave in. The ceiling of the cave had collapsed and a stalactite fell onto their home when Horror was out hunting. It was an unfortunate accident that left him feeling numb after his initial grieving. No one bothered him, wanting to give him space. It was a couple of weeks until Nightmare came, and by then, Horror hadn't eaten much of anything. He still hunted for food for the town, but only took small amounts of food for himself. Nightmare offered to help him with food, and a way out of his world if he was willing to leave. Horror accepted his offer, not having anything left in his world. Nightmare helps him heal from his brother's death and helps him with the malnutrition Horror had due to the state of his AU. Because of this, Horror became very loyal to him.

- Nightmare wasn't expecting Horror to stick around as long as he does, he was expecting him to find a place to stay and live the rest of his life. He can't say he isn't grateful that he stayed, though. He was quite lonely after Dream left, and never stayed in a place too long to form any actual friendships.

- Nightmare and Horror traveled the multiverse together, and Nightmare shared with him the reason he travels. Horror understood, and tries to help him find Dream. They eventually come upon Dusttale.

- Dust had finally killed the human, but was waiting for the Reset. He spent the time in his home, sitting on the ground. After a while, with no Reset happening, he started breaking down. The memories of what he's gone through, what he's done, begin to plague him. He curls up on himself and sobs, apologizing to his dead brother and friends.

- Nightmare feels his despair, and searches for the source of it. Horror followed him, and they came to Dust's house. Nightmare knocked on the door, but had to dodge the attack that came through it. Dust was surprised, though, when he saw people who looked kinda like him. He was hesitant to fight them, wanting to know what they wanted before deciding what to do.

- They tell him the reason they're here, and offer to help him. After some consideration, he agrees and Nightmare takes him under his wing(heh). It takes a while, nightmares and other setbacks being an issue with Dust's recovery of his sanity, but he becomes mostly sane after a few months. He stays with Nightmare and Horror because he decides he's better off with them, though Nightmare only slightly protested. He didn't deny him coming along with him, though.

- Horror and Dust didn't fully get along at first, there were a lot of tense moments between them that occasionally led to arguments or fights. It never became too serious, though, and Nightmare always managed to separate them and settle their arguments. They eventually got along, though, and their arguments were more playful.

- They visited many other worlds, and enjoyed their visits, except for when Nightmare got too panicky in the crowds in a couple of those worlds. They made sure to get him out of the crowds and somewhere safe for him to calm down. (They eventually find that the best way to calm him down after this is to preen his wings, it helps ground him.)

- They eventually came across Killer, who attacked them as soon as he saw them. They managed to tire him out, though not without injuries on both sides. He let them talk when he realized they weren't going to hurt him when he's too exhausted to fight back, and Nightmare offered to help him, just as he offered to help Dust and Horror. He didn't answer right away, said he'd think about it. Since he didn't have a way to communicate with them when he wanted to give them an answer, he allowed them to stay in one of the empty houses in Snowdin while he stayed in his home.

- Killer decided that he'd join them after thinking about it for a couple of days. Nightmare helped him deal with his emotions as they came back, and Dust and Horror helped him with his LV issues as well.

- Killer's SOUL became an upside-down heart shape after a while instead of target shaped. It will go back to the target if he's really upset, though.

- Cross was the next who joined, they found him in his empty AU crying. When he saw them, he was unsure if they were real, or if he was hallucinating. Nightmare reassured him they were real, but before he could say anything more, Cross had ran to him and hugged him. Nightmare didn't expect it, but didn't pull away, though the others almost pulled a weapon on him, thinking he might've attacked him. Cross, being reassured that they were indeed real, pretty much begged them to take him with them. Nightmare easily agreed, and they all left with a crying Cross, though his tears were from happiness this time.

- Cross never left their side, and if they had to split up, he always stayed with one of them. His time in his empty world made him afraid of being alone, which the others understood.

- Cross has wings, which Nightmare found very interesting. Cross admitted that he didn't always have them, though, and never actually used them to spite X!Gaster. Nightmare offers to teach him how to use them, to which he agreed. It took a lot of time and effort, but eventually Cross was able to fly with expertise. Before they even started, though, Nightmare saw how poorly they were taken care of. Cross said that he never knew how to maintain them, and let them be, even as they felt uncomfortable. Nightmare took his time preening them, teaching Cross how to do so on his own as well.

- They eventually came across Tempest, who was relaxing in Outertale. Tempest was wary about them, just as they were wary about him. They all managed to agree not to attack each other, and instead talked to each other.

- They found out that Tempest destroyed entire universes, but doesn't destroy the more major ones. Tempest found that they were just traveling through the multiverse, and that Nightmare was looking for his elusive brother. They parted ways, though Tempest likes to keep an eyesocket on them. They even meet him again every now and then.

- Tempest took a liking to them, though he doesn't admit it aloud. It becomes an unspoken alliance between them, though they don't take part in destroying universes with him. He even convinced them to at least have a place to stay and return to when they're tired of traveling.

- They decided to occupy a large house in one of the abandoned-but-stable AUs that Tempest pointed them to. The world is empty of inhabitants, Spectrum had evacuated it a long time ago due to Tempest destroying a universe near it, fearing that it would be his next target. It was the perfect size for them, though they had to have it fixed up a bit, it was left in disuse for a long time.

- After fixing it up, they had a nice living space that they can live in. After living in it for a few months, all while going out and trying to find Dream, they eventually got comfortable enough to start messing around in it. Some of their roughhousing ended up breaking things, but thankfully it wasn't ever something really important to any of them. They all knew not to take any of their shenanigans that far.

- Tempest and Spectrum used to be more enemies than friends, or at least in Tempest's point of view. Spectrum thought of it as a challenge to get Tempest to be at least friendly to him.

-After they made a truce, where Tempest would stop going after the major AUs and Spectrum agreed he won't interfere with him when he destroys them. Spectrum uses this opportunity to try hanging out with Tempest, but it doesn't go well for the first several attempts.

- Tempest, being a few inches taller than Spectrum, likes to tease the other about their height difference. Spectrum doesn't like it, and tries to defend his height. Tempest does it because he likes to mess with him, and finds his reactions hilarious. Spectrum eventually gets used to it, but still reacts like that, but doesn't actually mind it anymore.

- They also fight with each other, though it's more to keep their skills sharp. They found that fighting is a good way to exercise and actually enjoy their spars, as that's what these fights resemble now.

- Tempest is friends with Crow(Birdtale!Sans), but doesn't admit it. When he first met Crow, he was flying through his AU, this was before he met Nightmare and his group. Crow had seen him flying around, and decided to join him. It kinda led to them racing the other and seeing if the other was going to be hostile. Tempest was the winner of the race, though Crow did keep up for the most part. He was falling behind, but stayed in eyesight of Tempest. Tempest had fun, so decided he wouldn't do anything to this AU, he chose to visit it sometimes.

- Tempest is kinda friends with Star(Outertale!Sans), too. Though he found that flying in Outertale is quite hard due to the low gravity, he took it as a challenge to fly in Outertale with at least some mastery of it. He eventually does figure out how to fly in the low gravity without hitting any floating islands or crashing into the ground.

- Tempest enjoys watching the stars with Star, it's quiet and relaxing. Sometimes Star would talk about random topics, from what happened that day to theories about other life out there, besides Earth. Tempest would occasionally talk about other universes and what they're about, and his thoughts on them. Sometimes it turns into a rant about how the concept of an AU is really stupid or doesn't make sense. Star just listens, and maybe even jokes about the AU.

And here's the other info that I didn't feel fit for their refs. Their interactions with others and who they trust as friends.
