Errol adjusted his old coat, checking to make sure the devices were still safely in their pockets- without a chance of slipping out. He couldn’t wait to take this suffocating thing off and slip back into his familiar lab coat. But he was so, so glad to finally have another client. Clients meant funds, and funds meant he could continue to buy materials for his experiments. A crooked smile stretched across his face as he thought of the prospects. He had charged them for a fair bit more than what they had initially proposed. ‘Fifty grand!’ They had said. ‘If you can build me a device to teleport me anywhere in the world!’ He had replied asking for one-hundred grand more, and what do you know, they had accepted without hesitation! Why, with that much money he could restock every last drop of the rarer chemicals he’d been out of for months. He might even be able to splurge and get more than he needed! As Errol checked once more to make sure he had everything set; blueprints and coffee on the table, weapons in his coat, not a single bloodstain from previous visits gone awry to be seen; he could hear the elevator approaching. Hastily, he sat himself down on the couch on one side of the table, making sure to settle the coat so that they (whoever they may be) couldn’t see the weapons concealed in the fabric. As the elevator stopped, and the doors opened, he took a sip from his cup of coffee. It was devoid of whatever warmth it had once held. He didn’t even bother to look towards the doors. If they wanted to talk seriously, they would come sit down.
“Nice to see you made it,” He said, partially to himself and partially to the newcomer. “You’re more than a bit late!” Truthfully, Errol wasn’t sure whether they were or not, but it didn’t matter. It was fun to tease.
