TOGETHER: our muses spend the night for the first time
“ i wasn’t really allowed to have sleepovers growing up, ” he chuckled, but there was a smidge of sadness that slipped into it. his mother never believed anyone would treat him normally. still, it was something he had longed to be able to do. he can recall the kids at school talking about going to the mall together, playing video games, going to the skatepark, or throwing parties. dylan was never allowed to go. not that he was invited much, but… still. there was a smidge of bitterness that festered. “ bah! at least i get to enjoy them now, ” he beamed, grabbing two bowls from off of the counter. dylan promised to cook for kurt if he ever slept over. “ it’s storming out, ” stating the obvious as he approaches. “ you know, stormy weather calls for soup, ” he beamed, holding out a steaming hot bowl to the other, a clean washcloth beneath it to protect his hands from the heat. “ tomato basil soup and- ” he sets his bowl down on the coffee table, speeding back into the kitchen. it was still a mess… but, he figured that he’d return to clean later. right now? dylan was more focused on enjoying their night. lightning flashes lighting up the small residence. “ a five cheese grilled-cheese sandwich on sourdough! i used the little paper mouthwash cups to hold some options, ” he’s practically glowing with excitement. “ okay. so. in these two cups: mushrooms and pesto. i read online that they’d be really frickin’ good, ” talking as though he were on a cooking show, presenting his meal to the judges. “ and this cup? it is a little odd, but... blueberry jam. that one is my favorite pairing. creamy and sweet, ” his stomach rumbling at the thought. “ did you pick out something you wanted to watch, curd? ”
