rome hills survives when everyone else dies, mostly by accident and a little by panicked genius. trips on furniture, screams at doors and gives unsolicited horror movie commentary while evading the killer. recognised by strangers in grocery stores. owns three unused therapy workbooks. has a half-written memoir called please stop killing around me. refuses to go to cabins. or festivals. or basements. or cornfields. well, NOW he's refusing. rome's survived seven major incidents since he was fifteen: the summer camp massacre, the copycat killer, a masked high school reunion, a new year's ski lodge attack and a halloween cornfield nightmare. then the lake house ... then the festival of fear.
