Although there was nothing outwardly projected toward his companion that reflected any sort of immediate upset at his statement of fact, that wasn't to say that he didn't FEEL it. Zack felt many things too deeply, and believe it or not, sometimes he knew when to quell his responses for later.
All his attention and energy was instead placed on the impossibility of their current dilemma, and the hurdle they would need to cross in order to CREST it.
