Straight up, white neopagans in Western Europe, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, etc, are not being murdered or severely beaten for being neopagan en masse. Historically, pagans and polytheists in Europe did face fierce persecution, but in modern day Europe, the more severe persecution happens in Eastern Europe.Ā
Those who practice ethnic/indigenous religions in Africa, Asia, the Americas, Caribbean, and Oceania face brutal persecution by Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus, including syncretic religious practitioners, including Voodoo.
So, frankly, seeing all you other white pagans living in Western countries (for lack of a better term) comparing historical persecution (Western and Southern Europe was Christianized far earlier than Eastern and Northern Europe) to modern day murders caused by religious tension is quite distasteful.
You donāt talk about the Sami in Europe, you donāt talk about the persecution of those practising their traditional religion in Africa by African Christians and Muslims, of the challenges faced by Maya trying to revive their traditional religious practices. You only care about beating a dead horse a thousand years old and wallowing in a pity party instead of trying to move forward and figure out what of written stories and oral stories is a continuation of ancient traditions.
