Institute Christmas parties were always nigh unbearable.

While Jon mostly respected Elias, they held a certain amount of resentment for his general hiring practices. Namely, his habit of hiring as many strange, unpleasant people as possible purely for the purposes of setting them all loose in a large room with alcohol once a year.
