There were always rumors that the humanities building was falling down. And there were lecture halls and clusters of rooms only accessible from outside and above. I feel sure it was a fire hazard, except I think there were exits to be found, once you were in. Itâs just you could never find them from the outside. I found one exit-no-entrance one fall night. It was raining and the door had no handle. If I think about it, Iâm glad there were more exits than entrances. It was a maze, not a trap.

"I'm personally offended that you didn't get me to be your fake date" - not sure which pairing tbh maybe sourin? Or sougou?
klgsnna i went with sougou because iâm extra weak to them <3
âI really donât think Iâm following your logic, here,â Gou says, without taking her eyes off of the screen. It is late but they havenât been playing long, were studying for much longer, and through the haze of his character dying Sousuke registers Gouâs curious glance across the room.
âThereâs nothing to follow, really. Iâm not trying to gain anything from it.â
âExactly.â
Sousuke snorts. âGou,â he says. âThis isnât a fake proposal at a restaurant to get a free dessert or whatever internet shit you find hilarious. I donât want to do this to gain anything. Iâm just trying to get my parents off my back for once, you know? Save me the grief of not bringing a nice girl home yet.â
âSince going back to school?â
âSince ever, Gou. I donât even want to think about how many late-bloomer conversations my dad tried to have with me in high school.â
Gou starts laughing, and it takes a bit for her to stop. âThey canât be that bad, can they?â
âYouâre only able to say that,â he begins, pauses to watch his character die on-screen, again, âbecause you donât know my parents.â
Gou makes a low, intrigued noise. âWhen you say things like that it just makes me want to get to know them, you know.â
âI could do without your masochism in my life, thanks. Especially when it involves my parents.â
âToo bad you chose to live with me, then.âÂ
âChose,â Sousuke deadpans, thinking back to the several lease agreement copies he found tucked into every corner of his old studio apartment. He narrowly manages to block the pillow thatâs hurled towards his head.
âSo, what? You take this girl you barely know out to dinner with them and theyâre just convinced?â
Sousuke shrugs. âWe have a few classes with each other, so once the dinnerâs over weâll just pile up on photos together to send to them. Theyâre not on social media or anything, so itâs not like I gotta make it a thing.â
âAnd what if this poor girl actually starts to like you?â
âPlease donât jinx me into having to deal with unrequited love.â
âYou jerk,â Gou says, and this time itâs her that shoots Sousukeâs character deadâthough the humor in her voice keeps him from being too annoyed. âYou arenât even considering liking her back!â
âItâs a fake date for a reason, Gou. You know Iâm not looking for that shit.â
âWell, Jesus, Sousuke, if youâre so scared of that and you needed someone convenient, you could have just asked me.â
The sentence hits him in increments, and in the time it takes for him to understand he looks at her, for the first time since the beginning of this conversation. She is looking back at him, her expression halfway towards defiance and halfway towards something that looks vaguely horrified.
He blinks, and gravely says, âCan I get that in writing?â
Gouâs expression relaxes into something exhausted, which is fitting with the rest of herânewly cut hair a mess around her ears and neck, too-large sweats hanging off of her every angle. âItâd be more believable, donât you think? We live together, after all.â
âAre you jealous?â
In case he wasnât already aware that saying it was about the equivalent of shoving an entire leg in his mouth, Gou glowers, face heating, and chucks a remote at him this timeâhe doesnât dodge it in time, and it ricochets off of his chest. âIâm not jealous! I am personally offended, though. A little.â
âA little,â Sousuke echoes, aware of the silence now that says that Gou has paused the game. The controller weighs a little too heavy in his palms. âSorry, never thought youâd actually agree to it.â
He makes sure to leave the implication thereâheâd thought of her first. If the flush had been dying down it flares back up again now, painting the tips of her ears a bright, glowing red.Â
âYouâre my best friend. I donât mind doing stupid things every now and then for you.â
âSo if I tell this girl she doesnât have to worry about it anymore,â Sousuke says, âyouâll sit through an entire fucking dinner with my parents?â
âDonât make it sound like death row.â
âI would never. Thatâd be sugar-coating it.â
Gou scoffs, extends every limb out to her sides like her body is giving under the frustration. âWhatever! Yes, Iâll go to dinner with them. And you. Youâre paying, arenât you?â
âWhat kind of date would I be if I didnât?â
âNo less a real one than youâre going to be,â Gou says, then unpauses the game without warning. Sousuke makes a startled noise, but they settle back into the background noise easily.
Easily. Everythingâs always been easy with Gou, Sousuke thinks.Â
âOne thing,â he says, a few minutes later, and waits for Gouâs permissive grunt. âWhat happens if you start to actually like me?â
âYou mean other than hell freezing over?â
âThat one almost stung.â
âSousuke,â Gou says, tiredly. âIf I actually fall for you while weâre doing this, I will literally personally write your thesis essay.â
âAppreciate the confidence, but Iâve seen your writing skill. Iâm good.â
âAs long as we understand each other,â Gou says, and theyâre granted another ten seconds of peace before she sits straight up. âWait, what the hellâs wrong with my writing?â
And to that, Sousuke couldnât help the laughter even if heâd tried.
Makorin, volunteer AU (You can choose where they're volunteering/what for)
As a volunteer zookeeper who asked to be placed into the building which only barely contains the things made up of his nightmares, Rin has seen the worst of the worldâs slithering, hissing, beady-eyed, multi-and-no-legged unspeakable horrors; and all of this trauma suffered for the ongoing chance to talk to the Crowned Prince of Creepy Crawlies A.K.A. the assistant entomologist of Ueno Zooâs Insect World (who also happens to be the most effortlessly gorgeous graduate student in the entire universe).
Even if he were being paid to work here, there isnât enough money in the country to make reaching his preciously vulnerable hand down into the Madagascar roach tank oh so slowly to deliver this nauseatingly repulsive hoard of demons their freshly water-soaked sponges worth this overwhelming feeling of terror and disgust, so Rin hopes it works in his favor if he ever finds the courage to make a move that heâd put himself through this just to get to know a guy better.
âRin, theyâre not going to kill you,â Makoto laughs with fully rounded mirth as he hangs a lazy arm over the open top of the hairy tarantula enclosure, all toned and nice and tanned and holy hell; maybe Rinâs fears compared to what that man does to his heart proves that Bug Satan over there might have a point.
spacetimeandcoffee replied to your post âwhy do gross guys from high school still try to hit on me through fb...â
Guys don't see "interested in women" as "not interested in men". They see "might go for a threesome."
I want to punch them all. And punch their parents for raising them that way. And punch society for that kind of ideology. I!! Just wanna be left alone!! By men!!

â You were trying to get yourself killed, which is what this family does best is get killed. â
âI couldnât let her go, Five. I was protecting them. Carl was going to send Harlan off to an institution and Sissy wouldâve been trapped in that marriage, and--â You forget how small your world is, her words echoed in Vanyaâs mind.
âWe werenât supposed to get caught by the cops, okay? Carl sent his brother to make sure I didnât take her or Harlan. How was I supposed to know theyâd think Iâm KGB? I didnât even know what KGB was.â
