Yeh, I have two mice on the go for similar reasons. A big Quill mouse that uses the upper arm, and a tiny 'laptop' mouse that I move with my fingertips. It keeps my wrists happy.
It's always a good idea to have a backup mouse anyway. :) I have this SteelSeries and also I bought a Corsair M30 that I'll probably switch it up with or take into work. Changing your peripherals up will keep your hands and wrists in good shape and hopefully avoid carpal tunnel issues.
