Voltron Headcanon
About how the Black Lion chose her Paladins.
First generation.
"I choose Zarkon. He’s a strong leader, his teammates trust him. People admire and respect him, he inspires others." Zarkon becomes a millennia-old tyrant, destroys his own team, and stains the reputation of his entire race for generations to come.
Second generation.
"I choose Shiro. He stays pure of heart even after enduring the worst. His team might not be working perfectly yet, but they rely on him." Shiro dies, leaving the team completely unprepared to make their own decisions or communicate without him.
Emergency generation.
"I choose Keith. He’s supposed to be the best of both worlds. Strong, pure-hearted, with solid morals. The team will finally work as equals, as true comrades." Keith constantly believes everyone would be better off without him, keeps throwing himself into danger, and has zero self-control.
Black Lion: "…I give up. Next time I’m picking a common cat."
