Soup Fail
Forgot to put milk in the creamy chicken noodle soup. That was the only thing left in the kitchen. F*@%
Gonna eat it anyway.
Potatoes: Day 1
POTATO DIET. It's not starting out great. Forgot to do any pre-checks. Fortunately there's still time tonight. And I'll likely do it. Probably.
Not being super strict with it. Dairy is okay as are a small percentage of calories from other things. Very small.
Breakfast was hash browns. Easy not to mess up. Lunch was experimental soup. Probably should have saved it for day 11...
2 cubes beef bullion
2 C water
Heat in slow cooker on high.
4 potatoes - cubed
2 C water
1 tsp cumin
1 small onion diced
2 tsp crushed garlic
Salt and Pepper
Added to the broth. Cooked overnight.
The results were not great.
A-view: "Two mouthfuls. Very garlicky but also very bland."
R-view: "My soup needs texture. And salt. Buckets of salt."
The texture of the potatoes was odd. The outside seemed almost rubbery, but the inside was good. So I might blend it up to improve the texture. Also going to play with more herbs. I have fresh oregano at home that will be played with. And I will be more generous with the salt.
But we're keeping dinner simple with mashed potatoes.
