I was thinking the same thing and started even looking for traces of photoshoppery. Today seems to be a "get obsessed by accessories" -day. I'm insanely frustrated because I can't find a photo of Louisiana State Police detective badge, the state-shaped one that's so familiar to us. And I found some photos of real Louisiana detectives wearing a totally different looking badge and started suspecting the costume department  just chose a trooper badge because it looks cooler. And the funny thing is of course, in reality I don't know whistling shit about law enforcement in the US or any badges for that matter...
oh my god that ask & your response about the similarities between mcconaughey and cumberbatch...I thought I was the only one! there was a time back in late january/early february before I started watching the show where I kept seeing edits of the back of mcconaughey's neck and I was CONVINCED (not knowing a damn thing about the show) that benedict was playing the lead. how bizarre. perhaps it's because they both bear an uncanny resemblance to reptiles.
Ah, the giraffe neck. And the unpronouncable names.This whole thing amuses me a lot. Like, how different could they be? The Harrovian and the Texan? And BC, the âthinking womanâs crumpetâ was a quirky-looking one whom nobody considered handsome before Sherlock - and suddenly, to quote Jim Moriarty, heâs Mr Sex. And McConaughey was supposed to be Mr Sex whom thinking women didnât care to look twice until you-know-what happened.

you took the words right out of my mouth. everybody here is so amazing, it's hard to believe. i'm sure a lot of it has to do with the fandom being so small still, but the show seems to have attracted a lot of more...mature?...viewers, I guess.
had a person tell me she tried but couldn't watch the series because it was to "heavy" and not so much going on, like with lots of dialog and kind of slow paced (what??)? it's not the average crime drama and maybe that's what makes people go "what the fuck is this" but those who stick are the ones that really GET the atmosphere and the driving forces and the characters of the show at such a profound level and it's so fucking amazing to read what fans write like im in awe of everyone!
