I think part of the reason I prefer fanfics over romance novels is the sheer amount of pining and yearning fanfic authors can put into some of these fics. Granted I haven’t read many romance novels so I could be wrong (let me know if you have any good ones!) but some romance stories want me to ship these two bc they are in the room together and find eachother hot, meanwhile some fanfic authors are getting me to feel the full spectrum of human emotion in a matter of 5K words and a dream
