It was late, and yet Nanami couldn't sleep. Personally, his mind was wrapped around so many things that he didn't know how else to think. He took a walk, around the school and it didn't work out for him. So going to a place he normally would go where he wanted to hide from everyone he was just there sitting at the edge. his head was titled back, and he stared at the sky,

He wasn't expecting anyone to come around, but the second he heard some footsteps he turned his head and saw a woman. Part of him couldn't help but wait to hear what she had to say. Slowly he turned back away and looked down.

" hello, Shoko."

he said lightly. Not sure why should would bother to come around him of all people. Normally she would be taking care of Geto or Gojo, or hanging around haibara. He wasn't anything worth spending time with. Even this late at night.

Seeing Elektra always brought a smile to his face. It didn't matter if she was there for a social call or if she needed his help, just seeing her made his day just a bit brighter. Of course, he knew they both had similar targets on their backs thanks to their hunt for the Hand, but that never bothered him. Nor did it bother him that she was an assassin. What mattered most to him was the fact she made him smile, she made him laugh, and he enjoyed their time together. Anything else they would deal with it together. Steve did worry about about their enemies coming for them, but that, too, was something they could deal with. Just like everything else. "Good," Steve said, the smile on his face growing. Heading into the kitchen, he put the pot for coffee on and flipped the switch for it to brew. "Yeah, I've got a bit of downtime," he added, walking back out of the kitchen. Which wasn't all that unusual for him. If anything, he enjoyed it when it was quiet. Though, he knew if it was quiet for too long trouble was definitely brewing. "I'm glad you're here, Elektra." He knew trouble would eventually find them, but having her there made it easier to ignore all of that. "I've missed you, too." And he had. More than words could say. Maybe this time they could enjoy the city without having to worry about some group looking to take them out. "No, it's not that hard to believe," he agreed, laughing. "We may have been fighting the Hand, but I did enjoy our time together. I thought there might've been more trouble. But just a normal social call is a better reason for you to be here."

The Warrior dug his heels into the dirt, shrinking away from the people cheering around them. "Alrigh', alrigh'! Enough with all the shovin', geez!" As they made their way deeper into the dance circle, the fire-blooded warrior muttered under his breath about how people needed to mind their own business.

"Y' know, making a fool of ourselves is no way t' convince me," he pointed out, narrowed gaze squinting even more at the priestess. However, seeing how excited she seemed to be, he let out a deep and heavy sigh, rolling his eyes. "But if it'll get ya to shut up and pipe down . . ."

Their hands met, and he moved clumsily to the music, trying not to step on her toes while mirroring the movement around them. The entire time, he was looking away, face flushed all the way to the tips of his ears. "Stupid girl ... Stupid festival ..." He muttered, but there was an odd softness to his topaz gaze.

Hopefully none of the other finds them like this; he knew he won't ever hear the end of it.

“It is likely hot in here for one used to American living and thus you are likely hot also. I have yet to engage the air-conditioning unit today,” Hanzo says, so very matter-of-fact. 

Did he purposely miss the implication of the second part of her question? Or is it simply a matter of the language barrier? 

The Class Rep had to be on top of things, always paying attention to the little things others didn't spare a glance at. Maybe it made her finicky, hard-headed, but it also meant she knew Asuka's boba order by heart, knew how her smile looked when it matched her eyes, knew when her favourite magazine would be in the shops again.

But it seemed for every drop of knowledge about the other girl she hoarded, there was a whole ocean unknown to her. Here she was ( drawing herself in, avoiding her gaze with that furrow between her brow ), yet Hikari couldn't begin to guess what it was that troubled her so, what it was that made her seem so far away now.

“What if you came with me Mara, please.” Luke offered a hand. “Please...”

MEMORY AND DEATH; two concepts of which the First had little grasp on, each crumbling like sand at any futile attempt to hold on. A funeral. A ceremony to mourn the loss of a life, to remember what it once was; to remember, to recall someone or something, to be aware of the past. Rei was aware this was not her first body, aware that there had been a being known as Rei before this that had ENDED and she had replaced. But her eyes, identical to the ones before, couldn’t see clearly the memories from before, vision hazy from the film of a new vessel, like staring at a mirror waiting for her reflection only to find it misted over. 

Whatever memories the Second held she chose to forget, to BURY in some attempt to remould the self that had been formed from them. Such reshaping wasn’t impossible: No, far from it. If she so desired the Second could become anyone she pleased, could very well birth herself anew with the memories she bore rather than without. Her self could die and reborn time after time, could remember what she what once compared to who she is now, forever until she drew her last breath. Rei, without self, without memory, beyond death, could only be. 

Red eyes fall upon red hair, lingering for a moment before meeting the other’s gaze. 

“ Did you kill her? ”

Her voice, usually weightless, still softly level in tone, now seems weighted by question, at what was for her, was a genuine attempt to understand.
