Things that I genuinely have no clue what explanation the showrunners could have for them other than pure unadulterated queerbait if Byler isn't canon:

- The final shot of season 4 where all of the (previously established as canon) Byers pairings are together and El is alone

- All of the radio hints and clues that have no other good reasoning other than Byler

- The weirdness/lack of clear romantic connection and overtly romantic actions between Mlvn this season in contrast with every other canon couple

- The painting being both a Chekov's gun and filling the Cyrano trope???????

- The Netflix search bars

- Giving Will hope and verbally expressing said hope that he has a shot with Mike

- Smalltown Boy being in Mike's character playlist

- The entirety of the writing of Mike's character and having zero of his POV for multiple seasons

i kind of don’t agree that the movie is better if you haven’t seen nirvana the band before like i guess i wouldn’t know cuz i didn’t experience it that way but i just can’t imagine it hits as hard as knowing where they came from. if you’re watching the movie without knowing anything you just see some funny guys do a sweet movie about friendship. if you’ve seen the webseries and viceland you’ve watched them grow from stupid fucked up kids scared of their own emotions to people trying to become adults and reckon with their feelings and then the movie is like this ultimate achievement not only stunt wise but also emotionally it’s the ultimate declaration of love and to know they started from “i’m gonna fake kill myself so you don’t leave me” and have now arrived at “i’m gonna die for real so you can live your ideal life without me” like i just don’t see how watching it blind can compare. you don’t even know them sighhhhhh (<- has only known them since march)

If Cherik isn’t made 100% explicitly cannon by Doomsday I will be angry. Not because of any like character beats or anything, but because sir Ian mckellen and sir Patrick stewart have been acting as though cherik is cannon for the last 25 years.
