On her own will, no, she would never—could never, even if she tried—yet of course, her days in this world as a mere, perishable mortal were numbered; and with the future forever a mystery to humankind until it came knocking on present’s door, she realized that agreeing to her daughter dearest’s request would mean making an oath she didn’t know she could keep.

But parents lie to their children all the time, don’t they?

Not when your mother was Kurosaki Masaki, though. There were lengths to which she would go in a heartbeat for them—just not ones that would provide a temporary relief, only to cause them pain in the long run.

“Mama’s here now, see? Mama’s here for my brave little clementine,” gentle palm softly nudged against Yuzu’s back to pull the girl closer in her embrace. “Did the ugly monsters come again? Let’s go find them together and show them who’s the boss in the morning, okay?”

She huddles closer, until her darker ink tresses mixes with the light shade of his hair. Her cheek resting upon the curve of his shoulder just as she feels his arm drape around her protectively. The fabric encasing his arm feels soft to the point where she presses her cheek further in. 

“Hm.” Pyrrha hums with content. Has no place she rather be than here. This blissful state of mind doesn’t come easy, but once it does, she can’t help but drift into the bliss. Lids began to feel heavy and thus they shut. Lashes long and lingering against the fringe of her hair. “That we do.” One of her arms reached down to press her fingers against his waist. A leather encased palm resting on his linear anatomy as she presses them closer to one another. Her hold on his isn’t exactly forceful, but it’s not the gentlest she’s ever touched someone either.
