In that moment when everything seems lost When your feelings are colder than a mid-winter's frost When all hope is abandoned and there's nothing left to dream of Because you know what's at the end and its agonizing to think of Every thought is of how you've failed There's no happy ending, that ship has sailed The pain is overwhelming, you feel your heart bleed You just want it to end, you just want to be freed In that moment let that tear fall Drop the facade, for just a moment, stop standing tall Drown in the misery, let it consume you Go deep under, you've been such a fool Take a look into your heart, it's been blackened like coal You messed up and went down the wrong road Black clouds overhead, you search for the silver lining That's when you take a look at yourself and see you're shining And in that moment you realize you're your own silver lining You look around, you're still drowning in the liquid of your despair But something's different now, ahead of you are stairs You start to climb and the fluid resists But it's not enough to hold you down, you can't yet cease to exist Slowly but surely you start to ascend The journey will be hard but at least it won't have the worst end It is how it is, there's no going back No matter how much you try you can't change the past For a long time there's been a lot of anguish But soon, soon it'll be time to flourish You take one last look at your heart, it no longer feels tightened Under all the heat, that heart of coal has turned to diamond
