It's one in the afternoon, and he's dragging his best friend's practically limp body through the dirt and grime of Konoha's dusy streets to his apartment--an unremittingly courageous attempt to get the young Uchiha heir to feel something again, something that isn't utter dejection and outright disgust. The blond contemplates it all sometimes, all of it, and how they were both a small singularity in the middle of nothingness together, the unbreakable.

Clicking open the lock on his apartment door, gold tresses uncovering fierce ocean-eyed optics raise gently to the disheveled mess of the darker haired ninja straggling behind him. Gently nudging his best friend's back, the Uzumaki was determined to make these next few hours with the Uchiha the best that he's had since returning to the village. 

And he's sad, admittedly, because all he can imagine is how he loves his other's surface and his quirks and his cold demeanor on a warm summer day, and his mountain range hips and the way the sunlight catches the rings of his raven locks at just the right angle to produce lustrous shimmers. The raven moves the fox's oceans, and the fox sets him up for flight and spins him around, and the two of them are the most passionate pair, or were, that is, before everything changed.

But it is cold out there now, and the sunshine-haired ninja is far too beautiful and fragile for someone so cratered as Sasuke is, at least that's what Sasuke came to believe. And one day, Naruto realizes that Sasuke's gravity is holding onto him less and less until they are almost completely separated, until he is just as asteroid on a trajectory to self-destruction without his better half, and he's heartbroken. He still thinks of Sasuke every time a star passes over head, or every time his eyes close and he can only see the black behind his eyelids.
