We recently opened the 9th of June. Being a relatively new roleplay, I am pretty surprised by the amount of people who are active throughout the day. You’d think people would be turned off by it being somewhat slow, but that’s not the case here.  There are usually 5-6 members online in our list of 30+ right now. We’re hoping it picks up pace in the weeks to come!

Welcoming (1/10): 8 From what we’ve seen so far, most people try their hardest to personalize their welcomes and stray from the generic “Hi. Hello. or Hello my name is!” posts.  The welcomes I’ve seen people post generate roleplaying/conversation that lasts more than a 5 or 6 exchanges. It doesn’t matter which faceclaim you are using, everyone tries to reach out to everyone. Admins. Explain positions, their work, activeness, and how you and the admins handle out of character situations.(1/10): 8 There are three admins, including myself running this roleplay.  We all try to divide up work evenly and try our hardest to accept applications and welcome people into the role-play in a timely manner.  It’s nice that all three admins are from various time-zones. It allows us more flexibility. All three of us are active, a bit slow when it comes to actual rp replies because we are both managing the tumblr, creating ads, welcoming people, answering questions, keeping peace and trying to add to the safe, friendly environment that will allow long-lasting friendships to grow Again, since our roleplay is fairly new, there haven’t been any problems that we’ve come across yet. Hopefully it’ll stay that way. But if an issue does arise, we will deal with it accordingly and in a professional manner.

Atmosphere(1/10): 8 Some rpers who have joined have expressed how much they love the pace in this roleplay.  Despite being slow, they like how laid-back and relaxed it is. They like how people aren’t giving them one-liners and actually stuff to work with.  Some have even expressed how they like to see that most people here have “well-developed characters” and “well-thought out posts.”  Because this role-play is small, it gives them a chance to connect with others at a more intimate level.

Literacy(1/10):   This is a mixed, semi-literate roleplay. We understand that everyone has lives outside of role-play so asking you to provide paragraph responses in MLA format is a little ridiculous.  Action/Script seems to be popular choice of roleplaying for most here from what we’ve seen so far. Rpers provide descriptive replies on average of 5-6 lines.  If you like to plot, some rpers in here would be more than happy to do so with you! Some have even taken the initiative to ask in the ‘OOC.'  We keep one liners, emoji usage and text talk to a minimum, using them only in sns-related posts or text messages (kkt, sms, etc).  

Do you think you need improvements of your role play?:  To be honest, every roleplay needs a little work and we are always open to constructive criticism to help make our role-play more enjoyable for those who choose to join.

Why should people join your roleplay?: Sonorous is a Facebook based roleplay, accepting general (idolverse) characters and aimed to provide a laid back, safe environment for building a long lasting friendship.  We welcome you to join us and make yourself comfortable in the hands of a new comfort zone. Many stress the importance of ‘family’ and here at Sonorous district we really do try to uphold this, and the first step is through inclusion.  I think we do this well when members of our roleplay welcome all faceclaims.  Doesn’t matter if you’re a popular idol or a trainee or even a foreigner.  Someone /will/ try to include you and talk to you. No one is ignored.

Welcoming (1/10): 8/10.

All admins welcomed us enthusiastically and creatively which I personally feel it’s a great example to lead other members because everyone was very welcoming. There was no awkward Hi, I’m xxxx- introduction. Instead they put in effort with creative sentences. I’m playing a popular fc and you might said its because of that but no. There are unpopular FCS too but I noticed they still received the same warm welcomes from everyone. A handful of the members did not welcome us but it isn’t that bad. Out of 24 members, I had 10 posts for my welcomes. It’s still better than being in another rp of 200+ members but receiving 5 welcomes.

Admins(1/10): 10/10

I applied and was accepted in less than a minute. I sent in Friend request to all three of the admins and got accepted in less than 10 minutes by one of them. Within that few minutes, the same one even posted a welcome on my wall. It seemed that all the admins are in different time zones but the moment the other two accepted my request, the same thing applies - a welcome post on my wall within the next minute. I noticed the same for members who joined after me. If for some reasons they couldn’t reply as fast, they make sure to inform us in the ooc group and assure us they’ll come around to rp with us as soon as they are free. I’d say they kept to their promise because when I log in the day after, my timeline feed clearly showed rp activities from all three.

Atmosphere(1/10): 8/10

Its new but its definitely not slow. My timeline feed is full of activities which showed the members are interacting with one another. Timezones could be a damper but this is the downside in all rps in my opinion. People who my muse talked to are lovely. Everyone seemed to enjoy talking to one another. There are no depressing status from anyone unlike some rps I’ve been in. They seemed to have the right admins and members to spread good vibes and that’s very important to me since role playing is a getaway from real life.

Literacy(1/10): 9/10

They said semi lit but I feel everyone is a writer??? Mixture of paras and scripts/actions but leaning more towards scripts/actions. We are allowed to choose the styles we are comfortable in.

Opinions on improvements of this role play?:

They are already doing well in putting the rp out there. I see their ads consistently. Maybe if they link up to blogs (like Krdb) that could help reblog their ads, it will help to improve?

Overall: I like it here. The vibes in this rp is good and it motivated me to welcome newcomers warmly too. It’s a great move for me.
