Even though it’s technically his main job, Storm still considers tinkering with various machinery his hobby. After all, it’s not something he does ALL the time, and he doesn’t only focus on prosthetics (and even when he does, it’s often not prosthetics he plans to sell)- that’s his view on it at least

When it comes to tinkering with things on the side, he doesn’t really focus on any one thing- just any type of machinery that catches his interest. From weapons, to robotics, to small gadgets. He likes figuring out how things are made, or how to make things.

Sometimes he likes figuring out what sorts of things he can do with prosthetics, and sometimes he makes functional ones that he may or may not decide to use for himself.

His tinkering is what lead to the GUN truck having buzzsaws and jet boosters, among other things

Though if it had to be a hobby that has 0 connections to ‘work’, he likes going on trips to other universes, exploring ones that catch his interests and seeing in what ways they differ from his own. He travels with the use of warp rings.

Storm used to live in a place called Oak Ridge Town!

I had no idea there was a real place named that before, and considering I’m super bad with location names and this took like 10 years, I decided not to care. The name is actually based on Ohrid, as is the way the location looks!

A lakeside (a BIG lake at that) town built on hills that give way to mountains. The in-universe town is largely based on it, with larger mountain towards the back and (obviously) a lot of oak trees.

Later on he moved deeper into those mountains, in a cabin with his grandfather who isn’t much of a people person, to say the least.

Later still, Storm moved back to the town, but then kinda ran off to the next location over- a big city I still have no name for. It’s the sort of city that’s just big enough to have tall buildings, but not quite big enough that skyscrapers get built in it.

That city along with Oak Ridge Town are the places Storm goes to often, though he doesn’t live in either of them.

Nowadays Storm has multiple places he wanders between that he considers home.

One is the large house that belongs to his brother, Exe. It was the first place he considered home in a long while, especially since to him it’s moreso the people that make a home than the building itself. Although this one has a lot of memories attached to it by now. This home is somewhat of an ‘in between’ between the city and Oak Ridge, surrounded by nature. You can view the city in the distance from it, but not Oak Ridge since it’s behind the mountains and hills.

The second one is a house belonging to his best friend/platonic soulmate, Zee. It’s at an equal ‘in between’ location as the main house, surrounded by a garden and water. Storm likes relaxing in this garden when things get too stressful.

The third one is out of Storm’s own universe- a home belonging to Caprice where V and the rest of the polycule can usually be found (all belonging to @riftclaw​) ((And yes all 3 places Storm considers home belong to people essentially named X, Z, and V, this was unintentional and we find it hilarious. He’s collecting the alphabet--)) it’s Storm’s favorite place to go to whenever he needs the comfort of being surrounded by familiar faces, which is fairly often

I wanted to answer this prompt from over at @sonic-oc-showdown​ but wasn’t sure if I should reblog the post or not, so I’m just doing it this way!

Storm started out without any powers (both in and out of universe)

But over the course of the story there was an incident that left him desperate to get stronger in order to save a loved one. Without anyone else to turn to for help, he started preforming experiments on himself. They were mostly focused on slowing his aging, since he was facing an immortal enemy. Unbeknownst to Storm however, he has latent chaos powers that partly got awakened by these experiments, and amplified. Now he has super strength and speed, but just assumes they were a side effect of experimenting with chaos energy.

He relies more on his strength than his super speed- if he really needs to he can rely on a burst of speed from them, but can only do it two times before he exhausts himself. If he’s that desperate, he can push himself to three, with the consequences being that afterwards he’s left completely exhausted and unable to move.

Storm, despite his love of fighting and sparring, doesn’t want to seriously hurt anyone. So if he fights someone, he reigns his strength back, and just fights them at a ‘normal’ level where they could assume he’s just a regular person.

Depending on the opponent, he can amp things up as he sees fit-

Example: If his opponent turns out to also have super strength, he’ll need to go from normal punches to hitting harder and harder until he deems it’s enough to defend himself without seriously hurting whoever he’s fighting.

Although this leaves him vulnerable- he may start out holding back his punches, but an enemy often doesn’t, leaving him open to getting hurt by them instead while he’s figuring them out. But he wouldn’t have it any other way- he’d rather be the one harmed if it means not accidentally hurting a regular person without any powers.

He’s strong and a very capable fighter, but he really gets his butt kicked more often than not because of the way he’s chosen to go about fighting
