I'm just going to put this thought here because I think it's funny.
I was watching The Big Bang Theory and because of how my brain works, I started wondering about Sheldon Cooper and Dr. Eggman.
It is incredible how similar the two characters are.
1. Super-geniuses who think they're better than everybody
2. Love robots more than people
3. Prefer stifling order over peaceful chaos
4. Are constantly taken aback by the witty extrovert in their lives (Penny & Sonic)
5. Accidentally formed a family, despite their best efforts to remain isolated
Also a couple lines from the show that prove my point:
"You remind me of a young Lex Luthor"- Raj talking to Sheldon about a massive prank underway. DC x Sonic has Robotnik/Lex Luthor team-up.
Sheldon remarking more than once how in Star Wars he related more to being part of the Empire instead of the rebellion.
I'm sure there's more examples, but it's a 12-season show, and Sheldon has a lot of quotes along these lines
My point is: Would Sheldon join the Eggman Empire or try to form his own? I think option 2, but it depends on the situation.
On the topic of Rouge and Espio, while I don't put it past her to keep flirting with him because it's a game to her, I also realized that this may also just be a game of telephone.
Everyone knew immediately that Vanilla didn't sound like that because it sounded so very out of character. And Vector's crush is clear as day.
But Rouge? Her flirting is no surprise. My theory is that, just like with the clues she was passing onto Espio, she may have been trying to pull him aside to let him in on the bigger scheme. She would disguise this as a flirty remark, regardless of her true intentions, because with the lenses being in play, that meant she couldn't be sure the thief wasn't already listening in.
But everything went over Espio's head. He explains the situation to Vector as whatever he thought was going on. Then Vector relays the story as how he thought it must've looked.
I am imagining that for the final episode, Rouge will have an "I was trying to tell you so" moment, with her hidden messages finally clicking into place for Espio, but everyone else being confused after hearing the story that Hopeless Romantic Vector was spreading.
Shadow and Cream are Pixie and Brutus
saw some comic panels, I'm not changing my mind about this
so what about a sonic au where the adoptive sibling relationships are different, like Mighty is raising a younger Sonic, Ray and Knuckles are being raised by an older version of Charmy Bee, and the Chaotix have Tails on their team?
what if I called this AU "musical chairs" ?

Apparently Shadow is left-handed and I didn’t know.
Evidence: issues 80 and 81 of the IDW comics (you can find them on YouTube). There are panels of him in 80 instinctively using his left hand for things like his ear-piece, grabbing the flash-drive-type-thing from Rouge and plugging it into whatever gadget it was that could read the data
81 has the Sonic/Shadow fight scene that used to be a swordfight, and the hand that used to have a sword (but now doesn't) is his left.
I mean, it makes sense. His character is opposite to Sonic’s, so maybe it's a nod towards that?
Is Silver ambidextrous? He usually just makes things float, so it's hard to tell.
Anyway, filing this with the rest of my headcanons.
Alright, so I found a story/discussion in which Sonic and Metal Sonic swap bodies, and it was a very interesting concept.
I love the idea of Metal becoming organic for reasons I don't have all figured out yet. Part of it is probably this guy discovering the beauty of life, being free of his programming, etc. Also mobian designs for him usually look pretty cool.
So behind the scenes, my brain was messing around with this idea until I had this thought:
With fusion being a concept that also gets tossed around, perhaps there is a moment where Sonic and Metal (via the chaos emeralds) end up fused for a time. (Probably around week or so). And after they un-fuse: Cyborg Metal Sonic. (Don't worry, regular Sonic is still fully himself)
