On the third book of Beethoven Sonatas in my Covid Read-A-Thon. This was the 2nd of 9. These are getting more challenging— however, Beethoven has more pauses than Haydn. This was D Minor Opus 31 No. 2. (It’s the 17th one too I guess). Circa 1803 for the whole opus. He booked 100 ducats for this which is $15k in today’s money— ace move, dude. His brother tried to convince him to get this stuff into the big leagues but he honored his original deal. Funny thing was that the publishers got tons of stuff wrong and it took them almost 3 years to get it all re-published. Another funny thing is that this set was dedicated to another countess, who was a great pianist— and she tried to give Beethoven a HORSE at one point...
