something that continues to be (tragically) hilarious to me is how benson set out to be randy’s exorcist, cleansing him of the things that haunted him in order to set him free, only to become the ghost that will follow him to his grave. and how exorcisms are often violent, brutal, bloody affairs, but they can end only with loss - something has to be cast out. i wonder when benson realised it had to be him.
