It wasn’t easy for Keina to register any of what Shion had said, much less following his instructions, with his breath constantly swiping down her nape. Her body felt rigid with nervousness, yet her knees felt so weak they might give way any moment. She wouldn’t really mind— that way she would fall into Shion’s arms and she could just stay there forever.
She cleared her throat. “Actually, Shion, I can’t relax because you’re so..” she turned to face him and the last word she was going to say got stuck in her throat. Shion’s eyes were right in front of hers. They were brilliantly golden, very unlike her dull light blue ones. “…close.” The word came out barely above a whisper.
Keina blinked, and felt her face flushed as she turned away. She lowered her hands. “I could use a break,” she said, feeling short of breath, though mostly not because of her training. “Sorry I used this room without permission. What are you doing here, Shion?”
"What?" Shion asked, not noticing that he was too close for comfort. But she stopped in mid-sentence and waited for her reply as he looked her into her eyes. Her answer was barely inaudible but he understood.
"Uh, So-sorry!" his cheeks turned bright red and immediately pulled away from her. He didn't mean to create an awkward situation between them but that's what happened. Keina broke the silence by asking what he was doing here.
"I am on patrol now. I just happened to hear that someone inside although there was no training around this time. You're lucky that I am the one who caught you. You could get punished, you know." But seeing her reaction made him chuckle. "Can't you tell that it was a joke?"
