Green-eyed people (Underwood and Weaselton this time) kept bothering me.

Williams had left me largely alone - at first, at least. She cannot stand my sight, but I was certain she would seek me out for something eventually, and I was ultimately proven correct: She forced me away and upstairs for a brief meeting. I suppose I should thank the Marquis for extending that invitation to Weaselton, though it surprised me that Weaselton had not thought of taking me away earlier. His mind, like any other's in that house, must have been (and remains to be) frazzled.

Another had hidden himself downstairs; I briefly saw him when I went to wash myself and made a quick sweep through the building to check its security. How curious for the Clockmaker to be one of that lot. He seems different, but he better not bring trouble too.

I wonder whether the Marquis wishes to see me as well; it has been so long, and this might be the last chance for us to ever talk again. Does the current state of things amuse and interest him enough to call in my presence, or does he have all he requires already?

His older grandson looks just like him, the younger not as much. The former's intent gaze reminds me of the Marquis too, though the similarities seem to cease there.

The younger one reminded me of someone else, and I strained to catch some of his words, even if the position of this parlour was disadvantageous. It was a fool's errand, and I soon stopped. Li Trudy's friend would have laughed (and been furious) if he knew.

The engineer Thibault kept trying to strike a conversation with me. I knew he only did this because I was in the same room as the boy, and he was worried about his well-being. I tried to be lenient, even if I feared he might wake him up sooner or later which would have been unfavourable. In the end, this never occurred.

It took me far too long to carve a rooster. I kept getting distracted. (I am still unsure whether I picked a good design, or whether it is too on the noose considering our current location. Alas, I could not think of anything else. It is a gift never to be given anyway.)

I hadn't been able to see or speak to Mylady during my stay at the Williams Paris townhouse. Last I heard, she was alive, though her brother looked like death himself. I know his worry and his pain. I still too vividly remember being at the dying bed of my [smudged]

I also learned that it was secured which pleases me greatly.

It was good that we (Weaselton, Williams, myself and our captives) left when we did. It would have been troublesome if we had stayed for much longer.

Underwood accused me of wrongdoings when I merely followed orders. [smudged]

He proved himself to be as difficult as ever, though he surprised me in some aspects. [smudged]

Milton, my favourite, slept without waking, albeit he did not sleep quietly. [smudged] If only I could have, I would have loved to speak to him.
