I don’t know how best to describe or show it, the essence is adding some volume to spirals, hopefully any of these visual aids help. If you have paper or receipts it’s useful to make a physical spiral to understand the principle I think. Don’t ask me about her ponytail I’m fully bullshitting that always. I don’t draw her hair particularly on model in the first place, trying to do that makes a person mad, but I think understanding and conveying the loose spiral will make it feel like Mizuki even if it’s not perfectly on model, personally.
