This thought reaches #deeep down into #mysoul and #ringstrue like a perfectly crafted bell. It occurred to me that when people believe that #someoneorsomething is meting out justice and fairness in some way by some (albeit #mysterious ) design, they are much less likely to worry about what is wrong in the world. If you believe that there is a god of some kind or some kind of force in the universe that is #inherentlygood and rewards goodness and punishes evil, whether in this life or the next, then the atrocities that we commit are much less horrifying. The #ills of the world are not so distressing if you “know” that #somethingsomewhere has made note of it and will, in its own time, exact #justice upon the perpetrators. But here’s the thing.. what if there isn’t anything punishing the wicked? What if there’s #justus and no one or no thing is out there keeping track? #whatif we only have ourselves to make this world better? How would that change you?
