“  go  out  on  new  year’s ?  why ,  just  so  i  can  be  around  drunk ,  sweaty  strangers ?  no  thanks .  ”

––––––––––––THIS WAS HARD on ryder. he adored the other, adored them in ways that ryder had soon realized was beyond friendship. feelings that he kept bottled up, kept hidden away, not because he was afraid that they wouldn’t be reciprocated, but because they were dating someone. and ryder knew better than to be that guy. instead he has as trained smile on his lips, nodding along to the conversation at hand. third wheeling was harder than it looked.

finley for the most part was a good person, at least that's what he told himself but as good as he was he had a tendency of wanting things he shouldn't or couldn't have and going out of his way to get them. when it came to rosemary however he had tried his best to ignore his wants, for the sake of his sister and their friendship. but when her profile appeared earlier in the week whilst scrolling through tinder he had been too intrigued that he swiped right and to his surprised within a couple days they had matched that what led him here, she had been sleeping over and he heard her walking down the hallway after what he assumed was a trip to get some water when he popped out of his bedroom and pulled her inside. "good evening, rosemary. i think we need to have a little chat, don't you?" he spoke out, clearly unbothered by the fact he was wearing nothing but a pair of sweatpants.

“for the first time i have something to lose.”

    “what?” his eyes wide, wyatt laughs nervously. “sorry. i swear i’m not a stalker, i just zone out really easy.” idiot, you’re useless. he thinks. like admitting to that helps his case any less.

"   you   break   up   with   that   tool   of   yours   yet   ?   "

“i know that I missed the call last night,” he sighs looking at the other. “but you know that's the way it goes. i miss your smile, your laugh, your voice. i'd be with you if I had the choice”
