Read anything good lately. Or bad. Or at all. 🐗
Ive been WAITING for this one!!! Ive actually been compiling my favorite books from various anthropology courses from the past two semesters
American Afterlives: Reinventing Death in the Twenty-First Century - Shannon Lee Dawdy
A Landscape of War: Ecologies of Resistance and Survival in South Lebanon - Munira Khayyat
The Nature of Whiteness, Race, Animals, and Nation in Zimbabwe - Yuka Suzuki
The Optimal Sacrifice: A Study of Voluntary Death among the Siberian Chukchi - Rane Willerslev (this one's not a book, just an ethnographic paper)
The Left Hand of Darkness - Ursula K. Le Guin (this ones a scifi novel)
I also just finished Animal Intimacies Interspecies Relatedness in Indias Central Himalayas - Radhika Govindrajan, which was not my favorite, but still very interesting and I am currently reading Decolonizing Extinction: The Work of Care in Orangutan Rehabilitation - Juno Salazar Parreñas which is also not a favorite but still a very interesting read. Lotta these books really changed my views on ecological conservation.
