This was my first time reading Bridgett Devoue's work so I didn't know what to expect. This is a five chapter poetry collection that explores all the emotions that come with longing, lust, toxic love, self-destruction, confusing breakups, abuse, and overcoming it all through finding light in even the darkest of places. Each chapter focused on a different type of relationship or emotion and I really liked that about this collection. The art from Laura Kline was beautiful! Absolutely loved it. The poetry in this collection are of short to medium in length making it a quick read. I didn't feel like the pieces all resembled poetry but more like quotes or inspiring messages. I also felt like it could have been edited to a higher standard as some of the pieces just didn't work for me and just didn't read well.
