 ❝—Yes,❞ he says. Ki was always fairly blunt, sometimes to the point of brutal honesty. Being drunk only amplified this fact. And while this truth wasn’t so brutal, it was one that still deeply impacted them both. He smiles at Hyungjoon, takes another sip of his beer. ❝I think—❞ he pauses, trying to string together the right words. He was far from sober at this point. ❝I think…You affected me from the start,❞ his face is a little more serious now. ❝I never cared before, but with you—it’s like it was almost inevitable. I couldn’t shake it and...and I didn’t want to.❞ He nods a little, feeling a bit vulnerable. It’s not a feeling he’s used to. Hyungjoon brought out a lot of feelings Ki wasn’t used, because he made him FEEL.

And then, after a long pause:

Ki wasn’t used to this feeling, wasn’t used to wanting. At least, not really. Not like this. It was overwhelming, something he couldn’t quite explain. When Ki met Hyungjoon, something inside himself felt---different, something inside him changed. And not for the better.

Ki had been watching Hyungjoon for a while now, wanted to know everything about the other. And maybe part of it was because Ki wanted to know what it was about him that actually made him feel something. But that wasn’t the only reason, he was simply addicted. Addicted to the feeling the other gave him, even by just seeing him. Seeing how he was in his every day life, how he interacted with others, every detail about Hyungjoon kept Ki watching.

Sometimes when Hyungjoon came into the restaurant Ki worked at, for brief moments he’d get to speak to him, to be near him. That was something he’d always craved, always wanted. It’s why he always watched him otherwise, because he needed to be close to him. Whatever way he could do that didn’t matter to him.
