Emily Haines is an idol of mine. I really believe with my whole heart that anything she touches turns to gold. Although Metric is my favourite of her projects, the amount of respect I have for her solo endeavours with Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton is off the charts. She just moves me in mysterious ways. I think what draws me to The Soft Skeleton songs is how her voice just drips over all of the piano melodies. It compels me. It completely draws me in and devours me whole. The lyrical content of her work is some of the most beautiful I’ve ever heard. I could get caught up in her work for hours and hours and always find something new to appreciate about it. She’s a brilliant Canadian talent. She’s recently shared that she will be doing a handful of very intimate shows with the Soft Skeleton since she has a new album coming out. You know I am going to do everything in my power to be at one of those! Wish me luck when the tickets go on sale!
